The folks at other forums seemed to crawl all over the thread, so I ask you: What video game theme suits you the most?

Secret Of Mana Prophecy (http://users.sephiroth.ws/ST/music/secretofmanaprophecy.mp3) is my theme. I have no doubt. It's a recurring theme in my life.

There are two themes that suit me. Gogo's Theme from FF6 and The Turks' Theme from FF7. :kitty:

Frog's Theme, from Chrono Trigger. Or, maybe the main theme from Deus Ex.

I'm surprised this showed up in GD, and not GGD. Meh.

Battle 2 - Hyper Euro Arrange (http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/flash/mq), from Romancing SaGa.

Or, maybe the main theme from Deus Ex.Win. I'm sure you've heard "Enemy Within" as well, then?
I'm surprised this showed up in GD, and not GGD. Meh.So was I. I thought of putting it there, but it's not about playing the games; it's more about you, kinda. I've seen more GGD-related threads put here anyway.

BTW, links to these files would be nice, for those of you who aren't linking. Don't be lazy! Rawr.

Win. I'm sure you've heard "Enemy Within" as well, then?

Best music in the entire fucking game. I love that track so much I want to have sex with it.

Er, anyhow, phonophilia (Don't ask me, I pulled it out of my ass) aside, I think (actually, I guess since I made it up, you SHOULD ask me. Shut up.) that the theme from SCD Lunar's Meribia (http://downloads.khinsider.com/game-soundtracks/album/lunar-the-silver-star-original-sega-cd-/07-meribia.mp3) is mine.

Honestly, I don't know what you're referring to when you say Enemy Within, but if it was part of the Deus Ex soundtrack, odds are it was awesome.

Also, if I knew where to link to, I would.

What I'm Made Of... From Sonic Heroes.

Horrible game, but one amazing song. I find it just kind of...fits me.

And how do you make a link directly to the song?

And how do you make a link directly to the song?

Obviously, you have to have a direct link to a file somewhere, but lacking webspace or a sufficient knowledge of the right sites, it's not easy for some of us.

Even if I had webspace, though, I'm not going to sit here on 56k and spend half an hour or more uploading a file so you guys can listen to it. Sorry.

Ace Combat Zero - Zero

Actually pretty much anything from that game the music is great

For those interested, Enemy Within (http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/186/89) (Also apparently called Opponent Within...) ... Well, I'll use spoiler tags for some of it. It was the part of the game where you escape the prison / lab / compound area where you wake up in after being captured to find yourself in yet another compound. However: You walk through it, and the walls seem eerily familiar to you. You walk through into a medical lab, and realize that it looks extraordinarily familiar.-=SPOILER=-The music is absolutely perfect for an area of such a highly dramatic realization. I can not have imagined a better theme for it.

stuff

Ah. I can't remember it offhand, but my guess would have been the music that played whilst you landed at and entered the last location in the game. That's probably the best in the game, in my opinion.

Darn it, now I need to replay Deus Ex.

Ah, the Bunker. Yes, you're absolutely right, I think most people would agree that the music there was simply awe-inspiringly staggering in its depth. By all means, do reinstall and enjoy.

My theme is probably Katamari On The Rocks, the title theme from Katamari Damacy. Love that song...

I used to think it was the PS2 getting overloaded but I bought the soundtrack and it had the same thing on it

Curious, Atma. Can you try to be more specific so I can listen closely for whatever you're talking about? I don't believe that I've ever heard that anomaly.

You beat me to mentioning the Bunker music. That is my favorite track from Deus Ex.

Some of my other favorites are the Hong Kong tunes. Both the upbeat one from the market, and the creepy one from the canals (which has to be the most atmospheric).

Market = http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/186/22
Canals = http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/186/27

Also, let's not forget the Paris battle music!
http://gh.ffshrine.org/song/186/70

Another of my favorites is the music in the Chateau. I think this was the stage where you first heard Icarus come over your com link, and it scared the piss out of me I stopped dead in my tracks. Roughly 1:33 into the track is where it gets really good.

Deus Ex is one of the greatest games ever. I started playing it's predecessor, System Shock 2 the other day (finally got it working stable on my Dual Core with Vista,) yet another game I should have known about back in the day.

I can beat you all in the odd department. After thinking about it, the theme from Tetris reflects my natural energy and exuberence. Plus I listen to it all the time.

Hell, let's all just come right out and admit it: Warren Spector, I love you and I want to have your manbabies. System Shock 2 was pure awesome, then Deus Ex was an electronic orgasm in a box.

Even though Warren Spector has no real involvement with the project, System Shock's spiritual successor Bioshock is going to be my life for the first couple days after it's released.

Oh man I forgot about only the best two tracks in all of gaming history, the ones that continue to stick in my mind and anyone who disagrees has probably never heard them and is trying to get street cred for being "against the flow"

They are both in megaman II and of course I am talking about that one Dr. Wily stage and the king of all kings

FLASH MAN

Curious, Atma. Can you try to be more specific so I can listen closely for whatever you're talking about? I don't believe that I've ever heard that anomaly. It starts around 3:45 or in that neighborhood, when the song "resets". I have 3 versions between the game, the official soundtrack, and the YTMND soundtrack volume something or the other and they all do this.

*edit* more proof that Flash Man is the God and Baby Jesus of video game music: http://megamanmetallica.ytmnd.com/

*edit2* It is my theme because I have spent probably at least a month of my life humming Flash Man's music for hours at a time.

FLASH MAN

Is it the first Wily's castle theme or the second? The first plays during the first two stages and sounds really epic. The second is meant to exude a feeling of being caught in the depths of Wily's domain, which is fitting, seeing as it plays from the third stage on(until the cavern area).

Megaman 2 was one of those NES games I started playing early and I can scarcely recall an entire year in which I didn't play it at least once. I was also able to replay in my head Flash Man's theme the moment you mentioned it. Such is the frightening depths into my very being that game has seeped.

I can't figure out what my VG theme would be though, probably some creepy track from the game Earthbound.

Oh wow. I realized as I read this that I've hummed this quite often myself, more so than most other game music. And that Metallica Flashman thing is the shit.

I have to go with the theme that is in my mind more than any other one. Achenar's theme from the original Myst for the PC. Yes, I know this makes me a sick, sick man.

The original Super Mario Bros. theme song.
