What happened to Ancient History?

Don't we usually get an announcement when there's a prune? And why would we have an ancient history forum if the threads just get erased after a few years?

Yeah, I periodically check to reread Toolies 50 posts in a row, but last time I noticed nothing else was there. No doubt there's a backup somewhere though.

There were some good memories there for older members(I'm assuming, as I'm not one)
Moreover, I just don't see what harm there was in keeping it. Why get rid of it?

We hadn't put any threads in there for a while. Even I haven't been here long enough for those threads. I think the latest was from early 2003, and I joined in the middle of 2003. We must have had some good threads since then.

None as good as the ones that were in AH, I'm afraid. '01-'03 was the peak of AGN's popularity and level of activity.

Sure '01-'03 was the peak, but it did not just die after '03. We've had good threads since then.
