A question about the Light Force

How does the Light Force work? It's the L4 Magic Ring, but it doesn't seem to refill magic automatically.

It should give you infinite magic, in the sense that your bar never drops.

For some reason, my magic bar still drops when I use magic items, even when I have the Light Force.
