I can´t load Quests! Please help!

I´m doing exactly as the F.A.Q says and when I'm browsing for the Quest
I always find it. Good so far, but when I click it, a pop up appears, telling
me the file could not be opened. Why is that? Help me, please!

What version of ZC are you using, and which quests are you trying to load?

I´m using the 1,92 version (The 184 Player), I think.
I´m trying to load the 100yrs Quest.

100 Years Later? That's a 2.10 quest, meaning you'l need 2.10 (HERE (http://www.gerudo.net/zeldaclassic/zc210w.exe)) to play it.

I've tried downloading quests from the Quest Database, but every time I find one and click on the Link, an error message that looks like gibberish appears! Does anybody know how I could fix this?

But... when I downloaded a quest, and clicked "Browse" on Zelda Classic, I couldn't find it! Do you have any idea where my computer could have saved it?

Try "My Documents" or the "ZC 2.10" folder. If not there, though, it could be anywhere. Try the find function.

There should be a front-end tour guide program to Zelda Classic for n00bz. Like there is for Windows XP which invites you to take a hand-by-hand stroll through the program and learn its features at your own pace. If this were made, we'd avoid so many questions. But then again....I've been wrong before.

At one point wasn't there a suggestion to change how quests are loaded for 2.5? Maybe this is something that can be worked on for afterward. Even something as simple as having an option appear after registering a name that asks you which quest (1st, 2nd, 3rd, Custom) could make a world of difference and avoid these problems. I know I had no clue how to load them when I first started. This type of interface could make things a lot easier.

I tried to load my quest files and it gives me Error: Unable to open file and i have vista and i'm guessing it won't work on vista so please help me?

Ah, Windows Vista, the one enemy Zelda Classic has yet to conquer. Here is a post I made a couple of minutes ago:


ZC will only work in Windows Vista if you are using a 2.11 alpha build and you open it with ZLaunch. The one exception is the Lost Isle Build, which works fine in Vista, even through it lacks ZLaunch.
