I have a Dell Inspiron laptop but all the versions of ZC just open and immediately crash when I try to open them.

I seem to remember there being some issue with ZC and laptops but I can't remember what it was. It plays fine on my desktop so I am thinking ti must be something with trying to play it on my laptop rather than a problem with the program itself.

Any help would be appreciated.

Which version are you trying to use? I have been using the 2.5 builds without a problem on my laptop with the help of ZC Launcher.

I am going to try running it with the launcher. Everytime I have tried to open ZC so far the screen blinks and I get an error (same with the 184 player) but I don't have these issues with the desktop.

I'll see if the launcher helps.

It may have something to do with your laptop's display resolutions not including Zelda Classic's native resolution. Try using the 640x480 resolution. In command line it might be "-sbig". In the launcher, its available.

Alternatively, you can try "-windowed" or setting a similar option in the launcher.

I tried playing with the resolution sizes and the windowed and sbig resolutions work but the window for ZC is tiny and the rest of the screens blinks like crazy as long as ZC is open.

If I try fullscreen it crashes and gives me the unexpected error thing from Microsoft.

Any ideas?

I'm running Windows XP on a Dell Inspiron 700m from 2005 with an Intel Pentium M processor with a speed of 1.79 Ghz and .98gb of RAM. The video card is an Intel Extreme Graphics for Mobile with 64mb of graphics memory.

I am think it is an issue with my video card.

I am having issues like this too. On my old laptop, in fullscreen the display would still be very small an other windows would periodiclly flash across the screen. I just got a new laptop. I was so excited, but now ZC doesn't work. It just crashes immidiatly. I am using Windows Vista Home Premium (probably the cause of the problem) and it won't let me go down as far as 640 X 480 resolution. I haven't tried 2.11 yet, but I will see if it works.

Edit: 2.11 works, but only if I start it with Zlaunch! Why is it that 2.10 hates laptops and vista:shakeno::scared::confused:.

Bottom Line is Vista sux period lol if you had Xp I can almost guarantee it would run 2.10 but if 2.11 supports it I wouldn't bother.

More like, what does Vista have with the entire gaming community?

What does your allegro.log file say? More often than not, crashing at the start means something simple like a missing file or wrong version of allegro.
