(Not really.)
Well, I figured now is the time to post this. This upcoming Saturday (the 23rd) I'm boarding a plane to fly to New Mexico. Why?
I'm going on a two week backpacking trip in the Rocky Mountains. The name of this trip is Philmont, in case any of you have heard of that. My crew will be hiking ~65 miles, with ~40 pound backpacks, over a freaking mountain. Some days we'll be climbing 2000 feet, others we'll be going up and down and up and down and up and down.... et cetera. Naturally, none of the days are very flat. Bleh.
I've been preparing for this trip. Already I've lost about 16 pounds within 1 and a half months (I should've started sooner), and most people lose an average of 17 pounds while on the actual trip (so I'll be nice 'n' thin when I get back on July 7 :p).
Before the trip, however, we'll be doing a little sightseeing in the beautiful, bustling city of... Albuquerque, some whitewater rafting along the Rio Grande (perfect!), and probably a little shopping... woo-hoo. But at least we'll be staying in a hotel for a night before the actual trip. :D
I'm pretty much set for the trip, though. All I really need in a notepad so I can write a quick log every night (which I'll likely post here), and maybe a camera to take some pictures (which I'll also likely post here). For having paid a little over a thousand bucks, I'm hoping I'll get a lot out of this trip and not just be reeeaaaalllllly tired during the whole thing. I'll be sure to be online tomorrow... for the last time in two weeks.
