HoD and beta quests

I was told that HoD used only ZQ2.10 to make it. If it's true, is there anyone here that can tell me how to make combos that trigger message strings when you walk near an object or custom boss creating on 2.10?

Also, how much of a risk are we talking about when making quests using a beta?

First of all, what you have to do is set up a tile warp to an identical room with the string.

Second, well, it depends on the beta. 254 is widely regarded as the most stable, but the later ones arent too bad.

It should be known, though, a lâ ShadowTiger's sig, that betas are by no means produced for quest making. They are really just to test 'em out for bugs. You can go ahead and build your quests... but you may not be able to port them from beta to beta to beta...

254 is really good all around, but 364 for me is awesome. I have yet to encounter a major problem with it if there even is one. As always, just be sure to make backups. ;)

So your saying it's possible to make a beta quest, but it's only exclusive to the beta I used to make it. Am I right?

Well, some betas are backwards compatible with others - I think they try to make them as much so as they can - but not all are.

If you make a quest in a beta, it will move forward fine, it just won't be backward compatable.

You can access all the builds as they are released from www.shardstorm.com. Just remember they are alpha/beta builds so some bugs will still be there, but many are quickly being fixed.

What I meant is that future betas may have features that work differently than the previous beta, like the heated custom enemy debate.
