Door repair charge room in dungeon?

As the title says i'm trying to put a door repair charge room in a dungeon. I just can't get it to work though. Everything looks fine, the guy shows up, theres a string, and nothing happens. I double checked the ZQ editor and it's definately set up as "room type" and amount being 500. Is this not possible, or am I missing something?

This is odd, but in 2.10 this works but only if you enter the room from the side. And the guy never dissapears, ie everytime you enter the room you will lose all your money. but again, only if you entered from the side...???

I tried this in 254 and 350 and nothing. Do I smell a bug? Granted this is a small annoyance at best, but maybe not small enough to sweep under the rug.
