Any of them. Wii remote on its side, Remote + Nunchuck, Classic Controller, OR Gamecube controller. I have to admit, I was afraid that they would do something too experimental with the Wii Remote- and they did (my guess is shaking for smashes), but you still have the more traditional options available. Very nice move, Nintendo.

Holy crap, that's too good to be true! Brawl will be one of the most entertaining games ever.

It's really good to see Nintendo using their head on this one. I wonder if it's possible to have more than 4 players with the Wii controls and the GC controls.

erm:
that would really be cool if there were an option for like up to 8 players (via 4 wiimotes / 4 cube controllers). those would be some really hellacious matches.

i am also glad they decided to go with so many control schemes. i couldn't imagine anything other than the gamecube control scheme. that's the one everyone got used to, since SSBM was one of (if not the) greatest games on the gamecube.

YES! I'm glad they didn't screw this up. Now, I feel bad for even doubting them...

Wow, I didn't even think of 8-player matches. That would certainly be a spectacle to behold. I know that you could set up 6-player matches in Melee with an AR, although obviously the CPU has to control players 5 and 6.

This is about as much of a relief as hearing that Grandma isn't going to cure your common cold by searing off your leg with a branding iron. It's not so much a "good" thing, as the avoidance of a bad thing. So yeah, I'm happy, but as happy as I was to hear that there would BE a new SSB# game.

8-player is something I hadn't thought of, but from the start they've said they would likely use the Gamecube controller for the controls. I remember the quote being something along the lines of they couldn't think of anything that felt right with the Wii controller so don't throw away your gamecube ones.

4 player battles are frantic enough for me, so I'm not really looking forward to the idea of 8 player battles.

I'll probably still be using the GC controller or the Classic

The fact that it would work with the Classic and GCN controllers is pretty old news. The Nunchuck I hadn't heard before, but I doubt I'll use it. Remote-only is just there for the sake of it, I'd guess.

8 players at once. That would be a challenge I find worth it. :kitty:

What the fuck is wrong with you?

Anyways, this is good news. I'd prefer to play SSB on the gamecube controller anyways. The wiimote just doesn't scream "Fighter" to me. Sorry Nintendo, but Gamecube controller > Wiimote in this case.

Yeah, I'd heard that too, but I heard it was only GCN controllers. The ability to use the Wiimote is new to me.

Close. From the start, they said they'd utilize the classic controller, as well as a quote of the producer saying "So don't throw away your old GameCube controllers just yet" (Or something close to that)

Personally, I'm not even going to touch the Wiimote when I play Brawl. I use the GCN controller whenever I can, anyway

It actually recommends there to use a GCN controller so that probably is what will allow the best control. As for the the other ones they will probably be cheap and gimmicky, but hey, why not?

It'll be cool because when you play a lot with one style, you can start working on another. So I can play through normally with classic control, and once I'm way too fucking good, I'll just play with the wiimote version, thus adding a handicap.

Good move Nintendo.

Cool, GC controller would be great for tight controls... and the fact that I already have many of them (for 4 players use).

PS I cant wait to find out if this game has online play... they havnt even shown wide screen yet.

SSBB Online has pretty much been confirmed since day 1, although exactly how they'll handle it has yet to be confirmed.
