Anyone? Come on, Link, Zelda, Samus, Megaman and Mario are way too 'old' to be main chars!

What's wrong with "old" characters?

ELMIND

They're overused, Plissken... Still, I wouldn't see a problem on a quest with Star Fox or Star Wars characters...

Oh...I thought you meant they're lame. An Okami quest would be...interesting. I don't see how it would be made that different from a Zelda 2D game though.

Lame? Between those I talked about, only Zelda herself is lame... Link is cool, Mario is a classic, Samus is amazing...

The way you phrased it made it seem like you didn't like them or something. It really doesn't matter.

ELMIND

yeah.. What matters is that people CAN make quests based on Okami, Avatar, etc. but they don't give it a try...

Plissken

Well mainly because they aren't as popular as the ones previously mentioned. An Okami quest could be interesting but I wouldn't want to take up doing it because it would require a lot of custom tiles.

Not really... Go to the official Okami japanese site and you can get icons of the chars, then you'll have the NPCs easily... After that is only making the customs or editing from something existant, like Seiken Densetsu sprites.

Well there would have be a lot of japanese style sprites. You could get away with some Zelda landscape tiles but I think it would require a lot more bright solid color tiles. To try to make it more look like Okami.

It would use a 16-bits pallete or modified 8 bits+

If you posted some screenshots from the website, it might get people's attention if you're not planning on doing it yourself
(I thought you were?)

Asking me to do so is easy, but try having a VERY slow connection on a HUGE site that takes FOREVER to load with a slow connection.

I wasn't asking you to, I thought you'd said you were going to.

ELMIND

oh, I understand...

I'll rip the graphics from that if you want, shouldn't be too hard (or at least, I'll give it a try).

ELMIND

Too bad I don't know how to work with ZC T_T

Joe123

Eh, I started ripping them but the palettes were a mess and then my file got corrupted. My msn stopped working for some reason.

ELMIND

What a lucky day, eh?!

Joe123
05-14-2007, 11:29 AM
Yeah. Ah well, seeing as you weren't going to use them anyway, I won't bother starting again

ELMIND

Too bad... You'd be the first to come with Okami sprites, tiles, etc... Hm... Wait, I could use on RPG Maker if I get those sprites shaded!

Joe123

I was only ripping the graphics from that website, I wasn't planning on drawing any of my own.

ELMIND
05-14-2007, 12:55 PM
But, starting from those sprites, we can get many things...

Joe123
05-14-2007, 01:50 PM
Yes, but I'm not good at spriting, espcially people, and it's a lot of work

ELMIND
05-14-2007, 02:09 PM
omfg... Then let's scrap the whole idea! ._.

Joe123
05-14-2007, 02:40 PM
well, if you want, I'm willing to rip the graphics from that site

and you could get some other people to help

ELMIND

Liek who? I'm too new into ZQuest

I dont know, ask in the develepors exchange on PureZC, and show them some screenshots of the graphics from that site

ELMIND

I doubt they'll give the topic some attention...
