It's been a while since I've talked to anybody here. Truth be told that while AGN has remained my homepage, I just haven't felt like posting much over here.

There are two reasons for this:

The first is quite shallow, and that is I miss the old classic black forum skin. The new one is okay, but I really did like the old one. To me, it felt more like AGN.

The second reason is that I have been posting like mad at www.screwattack.com If anybody doesn't know what that is, it's the home of the Angry Video Game Nerd, and other shows like Video Game Vault, the Sidescrollers podcast, Captain S and Gamejew. It's also got the same similar forum skin style that AGN used to have. Oh yeah and I can swear there no problem because nobody knows who I am over there.

I still pop in and lurk from time to time, and I've even downloaded the latest beta and tried a few games. ZC is still pretty good, and it's amazing how far it's come. As quest making goes, I am pretty much out of it. I'm an old-timer who can't keep up with those new-fangled scripting and stuff.

I've also been busy with rom hacking. Recently I release my Blaster Master hack, Blaster Master Pimp Your Ride, and right now I am working on a pretty cool Mega Man 4 hack that's comming along nicely. Both have helped me immensely in learning assembly language.

So that's pretty much what's been going on. I've noticed AGN hasn't had too much in the way of traffic, but I do know that some old and infamous people are back. Things have definitly changed here, but this place has always been my first true home.

So, no I'm not dead, nor am I leaving, but I am far more active at Gamefaqs and Screwattack. Seriously, if you haven't checked out the Angry Video Game Nerd, and you are into retro gaming, he's pretty funny, and not all about the cursing. His latest one was pretty nifty with the special effects, like when Spiderman goes up on his celing to play the Gameboy.

What exactly did you need to know assembly for? What kind of hack did you make?

...I was wondering where you got to.

:P I'll probably face the same problem soon enough. Once I leave
school, it'll probably be impossible to be a fully active member on 3 1/2 different forums.

Anyway, we missed ya.

The angry videogame nerd did a hillarious review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the NES, and after seeing it I became a fan. He's awesome.

I see it says you are the resident Dr. Who fan. Have you watched the third season yet? If not you really need to see the shakespere episode.

Watched it? I've downloaded the fan-made DVD. Definitely the best episode of the season so far.

EDIT: You do know I'm in the UK, right?

Nope. I'm in Canada and my dad's been downloading the fam made DVD too off of a newsgroup. We even got to see the Weakest Link espisode with the guy who does the voice of the Daleks and K-9.

My dad also got a remote control Dalek for his birthday. It's totally awesome.

That reminds me, tonight is Who night in our household, although I tend not to watch as many epsisodes as my parents since I always end up on the phone with my girlfriend.

I have a DVD rip of that softcore porn movie featuring the Daleks. "Abducted by the Daleks"

Ah, I remember that! Absolutely hilarious. I think they had to rename it 'Abducted by the Daloids' though, for obvious reasons. Hard to imagine anyone getting turned on by naked women being half-heartedly groped by a bunch of metal tinpots.

I too have a remote control Dalek. Is yours Black or that sort-of Copper that they are now?

Yeah my dad's is copper, or gold or somthing.

Dalek porn? OMG, I got to tell my dad about that. That's just so....strange. I tell you people are total perverts.

Lord only knows I wish I were making it up:
http://lostsilver.com/movies/0%20DVD%20IMAGES/Abducted%20Daleks.jpg

Widely reported this morning (well widely reported in The Sun - proprietor R. Murdoch - and on Sky News - proprietor R. Murdoch) is the news that the third Dalek movie has been made.

Abducted by the Daleks has a, shall we say, slightly more adult tone to it than the previous big screen outings. Plenty of sucker action and more than a few Dalek bumps on display. The Sun has a couple of fantastic quotes - the first from Tim Hancock, director of the Estate of Terry Nation: "The reason the Daleks are still the most sinister thing in the universe is because they do not make things like porn. They weren’t ever intended to be sexual creatures. It’s simple, Daleks do not do porn." - I wonder whether he's seen the cliffhanger to part three of Remembrance of the Daleks when Ace is about to be spit-roasted by three of Skaro's finest bearing down on top of her?

The second quote is attributed to Colin Brown, a life-long Who fan, who says that, "It's outrageous to think of them touching up naked women — Daleks just don’t behave like that." Nor, it has to be said, do the majority of Doctor Who fans.

The most pressing question on the lips of every Who fan must be; Does this count as canon?

By the way... Darthy ain't the only Dr. Who fan on the board. :) Hubby and I watch at least one Dr. Who (starting from the VERY beginning and going from there and even rewatching some) episode on our Saturday night movie nights. We love 'em :)

An assembly hack. The basis is that it's like an alternate timeline to Megaman 4. This time however, Dr Cossack is prepared. He invented a new sytem that allows the component that gives the robots their powers, to be remote controlled. This means that when Megaman kills the robot, he doesn't get the power. What he does get is a piece of key data.

The neat thing about the game though, is the addition of some extra upgrades. When fully equiped, Megaman will be even more moble than ever before. I won't say what, but the game will seem longer than it was before.

Not sure if you're interested or not, but I've written a sort-of review of Daleks in Manhattan/Evolution of the Daleks at my local Doctor Who blog. There's spoilers, but if you can cope with those, then knock yourself out. (http://www.behindthesofa.org.uk/2007/05/i_am_your_futur.html)

EDIT: Now that the site's changed its background image, there's not so many spoilers now.
