Which threads are you trying to post in? If they're in "Ask Someone Who Gets Laid", you'll need 100 posts first (as mentioned here (http://www.armageddongames.net/forums/showthread.php?t=72470)).

Also, we've been getting (what I presume to be) spambots who just advertise Viagra, CD Keys and/or other stuff with their first post and subsequently get banned. The mods may have been cracking down on new users creating threads in certain sections.

Again, you'll have to tell us where you're trying to post before we can really help you further.

Speaking of which, I think it's a great idea to require like 25 posts or so to make a new thread anywhere. Those spam bots are obnoxious.

It's not a bad idea except for the new members that make threads looking for help in the ZC sections.

Turn on post preview mode for those with less than 5 to 10 posts then. More work for the mods, but if you're looking for something efficient, that's pretty much it. It's a quick usergroup transition. Nothing difficult to do.

How about having to have 25 posts to start a new thread in General Discussion, General Gaming or Think Tank, but leaving the New Members and Zelda Classic areas free for all? I'm no expert in forum coding, but I'm guessing it can be done.

As everyone else has said... you have to tell us where you were trying to post before we can help you. You should always provide as much info about the problem as possible when you're asking for help about said problem.

Edit: Welcome to our forums. Be sure to read the rules and regulations and TOS (Terms of Service). Rules are generally posted in sticky topics at the top of the area you are reading.

Make it so that if you post spam a robot crawls out of your screen and rips out your lungs.

Same guy sent me a PM asking me how old I am... Not sure what was up with that...

Can you spell "Creepy Middle Aged Guy"?

How about "Predator"?

biggiy05, I'll take you up on that bet. :googly:

I'm so tempted to ask you to post that, but I know you won't, so neither will I.

How about if you post spam, I suddenly appear behind you and lop your head off with a rusty machete?

He left.

@Darth: Let's just settle on sending a crack-team of ninja monkey assasins to the house of whoever posts spam?

You all realize this is going to work fine and well against spamming people, right?

This may not be so effective against spambots, which seem to be the source of the majority of gunk that lands on our boards now. We trace a spambot and track it down, we might find it armed with a laser or something. Don't suggest trying to hunt down the writers of the bot-spamming code either. These things can probably operate with controlled timing, so by the time a spambot's package lands in GD, the programmer could be hiding in Djibouti.

Seriously, a minimum of 5-10 posts to start a new topic in GD or GGD would likely do the trick.

Isn't that pretty much what I said, only with less joking around and a lower post count?
