What do you mean save? You can't save what you made yourself, or you can't save while playing. ZQuest should always ask you if you want to save your quest file before exiting.... While playing, press F6 when you want to save.

What version? And can you quote the error message?

2.10.2
"Error saving grand_1st.qst"
That's all it says.

Are you running ZC on an XP computer with Admin privileges?

Have you ever been able to save through ZQuest before? Try just starting a basic quest file (New) and then save right away. If that's not working then it could be the admin problem as suggested by Luigi. You need to be an admin on the computer for ZC and ZQuest to work properly.

If the above works, then take your quest and make sure the header information is set correctly. Go under Quest -> Header and make sure the quest number is set to Zero (used for custom quests). Make sure the rest of the information is correct and there aren't any odd characters in any of the fields. I had a problem once and clearing this out helped.

I would assume that the .qst file you are working on might flagged as read-only. You would have to right click on that .qst file you are working on and go to properties and on the bottom of the dialog box where it says attributes, uncheck read-only if it's checked and it should save your .qst file.

I had that problem when I was trying to save from one computer into the shared documents folder on another computer. If you're doing something like that, that might be it...
