How do I take a screenshot while in ZQ?

I think it's Z. You can check under the etc tab if I remember correctly.

Unfortunately, the screenshot image files don't seem to be appearing in my ZC folder. What could be wrong?

Well if it is the first one it should be labeled zelda001.bmp (or whatever file type you set it as) And if that doesn't work just use print screen and paste into paint and save it from there.

Please not that print screening in zquest fullscreen doesn't work, so you have to make zquest windowed and print screen it.

Oops. I forgot to mention that part. And if you have any photo editing software such as photoshop you can just crop out the background to leave only the ZQuest window.

In the tile/subscreen/combo editor: F12

In the player: F12
