I stumbled upon this site awhile ago and didn't want to tell you guys tell I was sure it was 100% ligit. It's called NES reproduction site and he can put some non north american games that were translated but never sold on NES cartridges and send them to you! He can do other stuff like that too. Here is the site and I had no problems whatsoever buying from him.

I myself couldn't wait to buy the original Earthbound and I did right away. Here is a pic of my newly aquired gold cart Earthbound!

Now he doesn't say anything about it on his site but if you send him Zelda 1 or 2 with the donor cart you are using to put the game on he can combine them or something and put all the stuff in the gold cart.

Sorry if this was already known on AGN but I've never seen it here and stumbled across it on some random google search. Enjoy!

He's probably just putting roms onto the cartraige.

Yeah he is. It's not like I can do that though.

He's probably just putting roms onto the cartraige.

Not exactly. He needs the cartridge board, but in the process of making the game, he'll remove and probably discard the actual PRG and CHR chips. The game he is to make is then programmed onto EEPROMs using an EEPROM programmer. The EEPROMs are then soldered onto the cartridge board.

Donor boards are required because of the mapper chips needed to get games to work. Such as MMC1 or MMC3.

I had FF3 produced, and since it requires the CHR/WR pin on the edge connector, and an MMC3 chip, I had to track down a copy of SMB2. that has all of its pins intact. Most NES carts lack the middle ten pins.

Interesting. Pity I no longer have an NES. I'd like to get the original Earthbound and Final Fantasy 3 as well. Amoung a few others. :kitty:

I just ordered a Sweet Home and a Mario 2j (lost levels).

I cannot wait for these to arrive.

Is there anyone that does SNES carts?

I'd like to know that as well.
Any other systems really. I'd love to get that Knuckles Sonic 1 hack on a cart.

I'll keep my eyes out for stuff like that.

The guy is capable of doing those, even you are really WL. It's not hard, it just takes some time and effort. But other than that it's pretty straight forward getting the information you need. Also I believe the guy uses EPROMs, and personally I'd rather FlashROM because it lasts much longer.

They finally came the other day. Took about 3 weeks from the time I sent out the carts. I'll definitely be ordering more.

Aw man, the original Super Mario Bros. 2. That's some serious stuff right there, have fun trying to beat it. ;)

But that is a game I really need to play.

I did beat it, and it was a bitch. However I did it recently on the SNES Mario All Stars. You can check it Here (http://dutchhannigan.armageddongames.net/?p=6) and Here (http://dutchhannigan.armageddongames.net/?p=12).

Luckily, All Stars has the save feature. When you die on the original NES, you go back to X-1. Without the SNES save feature it will be even tougher, however I do plan to make it through the NES cart soon as well.

I'm curious is there any difference between the NES version of Earthbound and the SNES version...

Well for starters, Earthbound on SNES is the second Earthbound game, the NES version actually was released in japan under the title "Mother". Similar to Final Fantasy, the west never saw the first Earthbound game and were clueless that Earthbound was infact Earthbound 2.
