Text Strings

Is there a way to place text strings anywhere on the screen other than where they usually appear (i.e. cave screens using Screen 80)? An example would be having someone to talk with near the top of the screen and then having the text appear at the bottom.

You coulddraw the text up as tiles, and put it on layer 6 wherever you want, but it won't appear like a normal string.

Just an idea.
