I'm kinda stuck on this issue. I'm building a quest with zquest 2.10. so far, everything's coming out well, it's nice, doesn't do anything it shouldn't. Well, except sprites will not change to their correct image. For example, I've uploaded Link, but when I try to change him, it seems the system picks a different square than what I wanted. Ok, read a bit here and the only suggestion was to upgrade to 2.11. I downloaded 2.11b142, loaded it, works nicely... but I cannot make maps. When I make a map, every time I add something to a square, a different square. (maybe 4 down and 3 to the left e.g.) gets changed, sometimes to a different cset(maybe even pallette) color. Then, to do anything through the menu crashes the program and it quits.
So, which beta, or which version, is "stable" enough to do what I need. I guess I'm asking what version you guys use, and I'll change to what the majority uses.

For your first question you need to change the Link tiles on the tilesheet if I remember correctly. And as for the stable version question....maybe you should just wait for the final version of 2.5 and not use Alpha or Beta builds.

You know, thats a very interesting question. I've been thinking about it for a long time, stay on 2.10 or upgrade to a beta. What I'm doing personally is buliding as much as I can on 2.10 right now, and then 2.5 comes out then ill upgrade to that - so long as its stable enough ¬_¬

Stable version? Use 1.92 beta 183.
I wish I could give you a download link, but I don't know where it can be found at the moment. All the "official" ones are down.

Don't use the beta's,They're meant to be used for testing and bug hunting purposes only,I only use the final version's[Currently 2.10]Of the program,You must know that there are patches for 2.10 that are bugfixes,They cannot be downloaded from the main site and they're scattered on a sticky post,Download that and see if this bug is fixed.

1.92 Beta 183 is an old beta, its more stable than 2.10 as far as I know.

How come is it more stable?
It's got less features since it's an old version tough.

less features so less things can go wrong.
less features allows bug testers to test everything there more thoroughly, if it was just bloated with crap then there would be more stuff to test and it would take longer to make it stable and longer to find bugs... bugs may go unnoticed for ages...... hence why early versions where more stable.
edit: i think this is more logical.

What is less stable about 2.10.2 than 1.92b183?

simply put, just don't make any quests until a stable version is out, stick with 1.90. :P

What is less stable about 2.10.2 than 1.92b183?
The fact that it isn't 2.10.3. :p Hm, I wonder if that was rhetorical...
No, but seriously, 2.10.3 will be pretty stable of a version. I just question if I can transfer my 2.10.0 quest to the .2/.3 version without worrying.
