Entry 6 is so unique, and has a great backround to it, I love it! and it would make a great feeling. Me just looking at it is making me anxious for 2.5 to come out hurry up! Lol.
Edit: But I think while playing Zelda classic, you should be able to choose overall.

#6 reminds me of OoT's Hyrule Castle. ... ... ... Hell, I think it is Hyrule Castle. O.o' Were we allowed to use such images?

My first preference is 5 (despite not containing the words "Zelda Classic"), and my second preference is 1 (despite containing too much black).

Some of the others were good, but contained too much empty sky.

They are all good but #5 has the original style.

#3 pawns the rest... and will stay that way until the animating gifs are replaced with ones which animate decently... the fps in the animations is far too poor for making such a critical decision.

IMO just include them all and let the end user choose what he/she wants... this could be just to choose the default one for the first time its opened.

IMO entry #5 sucks due to A) repetitive look B) plain and boring C) unimaginative D) WTF is that logo?

#3 definitely owns. The rest are kind of... meh. But I wouldn't be surprised if #5 won, and it's not bad but it's just too... similiar to what we got now and it says "The Legend of Zelda" instead of "Zelda Classic" and ZC it should say IMO.

I, myself, like Entry 1. Gold is a good color. :) Entry 3 is too... creepy. Entry 5 doesn't look right. I thought the rule was that it had to say "Zelda Classic", not "The Legend of Zelda"? Entry 7 is just eww with that disturbing animation, and Entry 8 is... glowing. Why is the whole thing glowing? Can't the CASTLE glow instead? That'd look much better. So I vote for number 1.

The display of the crest and "Zelda" in #1 is cool too but I'd prefer it with a different background (e.g. the one of #5 or #7 or so) and the "2.5" in the same font and line as the "classic"..

If you could somehow make number three the screen that says Continue, Retry, Quit, that would be cool too.

If #3 doesn't end up winning, I think this would be a great idea. It's too good to not be included somehow but it just didn't fit my idea of a title screen.

i liked number 3, 1, and 8. 2 was good, but the gradient was a bit boring. hand-colored would have made it rock way more. also, i'm not a big fan of the original zelda logos, they're not all that great.

3 and 1 are definitely my favorites though. 1 could animate faster, and the 2.5 seems out of place.

#5 Really captures what Zelda Classic is about... It is true to the origenal, yet fine tuned for the future... or something like that. *votes

I like the colors and glow of #8, #6 for it's VERY classic style, and #5 for it's
originality.

Well, whether or not #5 has already been implemented or not (I haven't looked yet), this poll should still be kept open for the remainder of user opinions. They may not matter so much now (As the winner has been selected), but the other contestants worked hard on their enteries and they deserve a bit of feedback from the community.


I liked #3 the best, the broken sword is a really cool design concept and it just looks perfect.

I didn't like the way #5 shined. The frame looked out of place, but I know it's supposed to be the 'Classic'. However I feel the glowing was drawing attention to the wrong part of the image, though. I would have prefered it on the sword.

#1 had a nice effect, but I think it would be best to stay away from OoT with this stuff.


#2, #4, and #6 were simply too plain.

And #8 had a nice background, but the font was kind of sub-par. If you were to combine #8's background with #5's foreground, and move the glow from the text to the sword, it would have made a perfect title screen.


Of course, that's all opinion.

Number 5 seems to be the classic screen to be chosen.
