yah so im really dumb. I want to play the games that people have made but idk how. I downloaded zelda classic (the newest version) and i downloaded some quests. If i open them in zelda classic they ask for a password. I dont want to alter the files i just want to play them.... how do i?

I tired to load zelda-W but it doesnt work.

Which version are you using, and could you give a list of the files in your ZC folder?

BTW, don't create duplicate threads (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?t=95108) - it's kinda confusing.

You should take a look of the sticky threads...

To make Zelda-w work, you need the 1st.qst, 2nd.qst, and 3rd qst. If it still won't work, create a shortcut. Still not working? Download it again.

How to get custom quests working.

1. Open Zelda-W
2. Configure the controls by clicking on the screen and selecting Settings > Key Buttons
3. When you're done, register your name.
4. Enter whatever you want, and press start.
5. Press B
6. Repeat step 5
7. Click browse and find the quest you want to play.
8. Click ok, and start playing!

yup done all that. i got the 2.10 verison from this website. it just flashes quick when i openn it, then says unexpected error and has to close. its a brand new laptop so its not a system problem.

in this one file called "Allegro" it says "Reading Header...error."

Put it in the ZC210 folder.

All you need is alleg42.dll, did you get that? Don't download the Allegro source because you won't know what to do with it.

Here:
alleg42.dll (http://www.novellice.com/zclassic/alleg42.dll)
alleg41.dll (http://www.novellice.com/zclassic/alleg41.dll)
alleg40.dll (http://www.novellice.com/zclassic/alleg40.dll)

You don't need all of them, just the latest one I think. That's alleg42, so get that and put it in the same directory as your zelda-w.exe and zquest-w.exe.

It's alleg41.dll for 2.10.

Just download 42 & 41. And by the way, you need to download the allegro source for your computer to understand .dll files.

If it said "reading header... error" then it could be the quest number or something wrong with the quest header

Quest number must be 0

Errr, say what? Allegro is a game programming library and has nothing to do with your computer understanding .dll files.... the source is needed to compile the allegro.dll library, something that has already been done in my post above.

I have tried everything. I have all the allegro versions in the folder but nothing will work. after i try to open zeldaw a notepad document called allegro is created . Like i said before it says "Reading Header...error." and all the other cateregories it just says OK. Ive tried older versions and none of them work either.
