Hi all.
I'm wondering if there is any reason why Zelda wants to hook into my browser.
I can kinda understand why it hooks into WMP, but why the browser?
Apparently in both IE and Firefox.

On to the Official 3rd quest.
Is the ladder in Level 6? I'm having a bit of a struggle there and it seems
that i need the ladder to get any further. General hints would be appreciated.

Thanks...

Sword stealers? Don't you mean shield stealers?

haven't run into shield stealers. only the sword stealers. big ugly red balls.
about a dozen in the room on the way to the Compass. unless you know a
better way around them and haven't run into them.

There are no Like Likes (those that take your shield away) in Level 6.

As far as the Red Bubbles (those that take your sword away), if you remember from regular Zelda, you can drink a potion to get your sword use back as well as full life.

yeah, well. as far as level 6, i would rather save the potion. the passage from
the Compass room takes me to a roomful of the blue balls. i've been using the
bow for the WallMasters and Goriyas until i get there.

but i still can't find the ladder!!

i'm at a point where i'm beginning to bomb moats and blocks and whatever
else don't move!!! :odd:

aah, well.

try as hard as possible to remove them... try spybotsnd (google it) and it should hopefully remove it.

next time download from the official zeldaclassic website or from purezc's website... because this program does nothing to web browsers.

I did download from one of them, can't be positive which but i'm thinking it
was purezc. Couldn't seem to get the main download site to work so i had
to use the mirror site.

its my firewall, comodo, that's telling me this. none of my other defensive
arsenal seems to notice. its called dinput.dll or dlinput.dll or some such
similar name.

dinput.dll is used for DirectX - it controls joysticks and gamepads.

Maybe something's affected DirectX somehow?

OR your firewall is set to stop programs from accessing other programs on your pc... this behavior would normally crash "worms armageddon" and similar games as well when you try to start a game.

i let very few applications phone home. and those are set to always ask via
the firewall. i like the idea of knowing what's going in and out of my system,
or to know as much as i can. maybe i'm paranoid, or a control freak.

if Luigi is right about the DirectX connection and dinput.dll controlling joysticks
and gamepads, then i don't think i need to worry a whole lot.

Thanks to all for the input...
Now i'm back to let Level 8 kick my butt...

yes, but some programs will crash if there focus is lost at certain points... most firewalls will minimize or lose focus of the program trying to do stuff... and this generally causes problems in full screen games.

my system is too old to do any of that fancy 3d rendering stuff, and i really
don't have the time to enjoy many games. hell, i'm a civ3 fanatic and have
civ4, but can't do anything with it cuz of my system's obsolescence.

As soon as i kick Level 8's butt (still trying to find the map), i may upgrade
my graphics card and get civ4 up and going. but until then, i've had no
problems with the firewall interfering with the apps/games that i do.

thanks for pointing this out to me, tho, for when i do upgrade this dinosaur.

cheers....
