View Full Version : Need More Tiles (Someone Good at recolors)

4th Down on this page: (http://www.purezc.com/index.php?page=tiles&id=758) I could use some recoloring into the DoR tileset and all the other link tiles (swimming stab slash, ect.) you will get a lot of credit in my next game: The Legend of Moon, (was Moon Quest). I tried to recolor them all by myself but they are a bit hard to recolor.

I dont mind if you have to use 256 colors.

I could recolor the light blue maiden fairly easily, but what do you mean by all the other Link tiles? Like the ones from 2.10_test? The DoR tileset already has swimming and slashing tiles. Anyway, I'll get started on the maiden now.

I mean making the 4th maiden down recolored and with regular link tiles (HER slahing HER swimming HER stabbing) because she's gonna be the main character in the quest.

Well... Thats a whole different cup of tea. I might be able to do it in 16x16, but never in 32x32. If you want it in 16x16, then I might be able to help you. Otherwise, sorry.

16x16 would be easier for me and you so do 16x16, and you also sound like you'd be able to do it.

Ok. I was making a set of playable GB Zelda tiles, and I should be able to edit those enough for you. Mostly it should be a recolor. The only thing I have to do yet is the slashing tiles. Also, for animation, BS or normal? Although I currently have BS, I can convert to normal easily.

No, you still need to use DoR's regular cset, and make her clothes green so when she gets the tunic/ring thing she can easily change colors. and now I think you shouldn't use 256 colors.

Very well. I will need to do sprites for all 3 shields, right? Anything else special?

Edit: You plan to use the shields coming with DoR right? If not, please post an image of the shields your planning to use.

Here's a sample. I still need to add a shield, just checking to see how you like the sprite. The color scheme is the best I can do with the stock set, so don't complain about that. Although I could ensure that the red ring/blue ring would work with any editing of the cset...

Ok. If I could change just one color of the cset, it would be much better. The stock cset 6 is stuffed with browns for the deku stick and level 1 bow. Seeing as you probably aren't going to use a deku stick as the level 1 sword, and both they deku stick and the bow (with minimal editing) look just as good in cset five, I could put those colors to much better use.

Also, how do the first two stack up to number three?

The third one is better, and its fine if you edit a COUPLE colors in the cset6 not all of them or like, more than 4 or so.

Oh, I can probably make due with 2 colors. Colors 1-4, 8-12, and 16 (or as the game says, 0-3, 7-11, and 15) are are either in use or off limits in some other way. So if you could give me a list of which colors you would care the least to see edited to the ones you would care the most to see edited, I could work with it (i.e. 5,7,6, ect. where you want to get rid of 5 and keep 6). Then I could get into the bulk of the conversion.

uh... the spites look fine how they are... but um... sure you can edit the colors that are okay... 5,6,7? yah, I got the cset 5 to work with the bow. So as long as the colors are in the other sprite colors, (like when Moon gets the blue ring, the colors dont go all wierd)

Ok, I have most of the recoloring work done. I still have to make the magic and mirror shield sprites. I only changed one color, number 5 (4 if you start with 0 like Zquest does). Its new values are 43, 53, 58 (RGB). Here is a sample of my work so far, with bonus normal shield sprites.

Wait, what? Oh. Stupid photobucket. I originally had a bmp uploaded. I'll wait to upload it to rapidshare or something once I'm done with the Magic and Mirror shields. Also, aside from the shields, the ones on the bottom 2 rows are the ones to use.

Since Beta 15 has been released with Roc's Feather (OMFG!!!!!), do you want jumping tiles or do you plan to just leave it out?

I uploaded it as a .til file that only has the sprites on it, nothing else. Oh, and I changed color number 6 (5) in the cset for the mirror shield. It is now 53 53 53 I think... It's supposed to be a light gray. Anyway, need anything else (or want to criticize me for my crappy jumping tiles), post it here or PM me.

Ok, I tried playing through it. It was too buggy to complete. The main thing that needs work is assigning link continue points. Also, tell me where I can further report these things, as this is still technically a tile request thread.

Wait, before I continue, I need you to fix the sprite palletes, you have the new colors in the wrong spots, so Moon's face is light-purple and skin, instead of skin and shaded-skin.
