Forest Canopy

using the pure tileset, im making a few screens of dense forest. I put the 'forest canopy' tiles on layer 5 and set it to transparent. It looks great in zquest, but when i open it in zelda classic, you cant see the layer at all. I cant work out why, any help? :confused:

They show up in ZQuest, but not in ZC?
The only thing I can think of offhand is that Settings->Show Transparent Layers might be unchecked.
