Here's the script, if you want it, but it's more proof of concept than anything else.

...

Have you any idea how long I have been waiting,

to say to my friends,

"Pong was built with the engine from The Legend of Zelda on the NES?"

*Points to this .qst file*

"THIS .. is Zelda Classic."

*Shakes Saffith's hand vigorously*

I love you.:blah:

Seriously, this is great. It's amazing how much ZC has evolved, even from since I have started using it.

Do I have your permission to put this in my quest? Or at least try to. It's simply amazing and I know the perfect spot.

Sure. The script'll probably require a fair amount of modification, but you're welcome to use it however you like.

Yeah I was thinking about how much work that'll require but it'd be perfect, thanks a lot!

THAT IS SO FUCKING COOL

This could be adapted to make a "Hit-the-energy-ball-back-at-Ganon-to-hurt-him" battle, couldn't it? With a lot of tweaking?

Actually, another idea I had is Link vs Dark Link, and you swing the sword to hit something back and forth. Saffith, if you could program that, I'll make the sprites :p

Nifty!

For another example of mischievous misuse of a game engine, check out Interactive Fiction Tetris. (http://wurb.com/if/game/94)

What version is this for, or does it not matter? See, I've been sticking with 12d since it came out, and, well, I don't plan on switching beta versions until either b15 comes out with a lot more bugfixes (It not that I don't want to use b14 to test for bugs, it's that I have quests I want to finish for 2.11, so I need the most reliable version out so far, which for me is 12d.) or the full version is released, whichever comes first. So... Thanks.

What about a B-to-start, A-to-swing sort of thing? If the ball hits the sword, it's reflected back (angle depends on the hit point). Getting hit or missing altogether counts as a point for the other player. Like Pong, only with timing instead of just prediction and speed

Note to self: keep up with the scripting forum more.

Man, I'm just now finding out about this? Nicely done, Saffith. Nicely done.

I am kinda tempted to give the graphics a boost and have it look like a Mini Game in Zelda :)

Works with Beta 15.
Yes, but it requires ZC 2.11 b14 or higher

This is great and has already helped me come up with an idea for the quest I'm building. So far though, it's not working... I need a way to test if statements with the screen I'm on. There's another post on the subject, I'm trying to use GetCurScreen, but without much success.
