"Nintendo's quirky little "Mii" service may or may not incite a tingling sensation in your gamer glands, but chances are that you'll be making a little digital avatar of yourself before long. At the Nintendo press event, the lengthy creation of an avatar of Samuel L. Jackson was shown, which paged through just about every menu in the software. A programming demon of a fanboy (thanks, Yann!) decided to faithfully and painstakingly recreate the entire process in a flash-based applet, and thus you now have the ability to create your future Mii from the comfort of Nintendo Wii Fanboy. How convenient!

We were able to recreate reasonable facsimiles of ourselves, but only after quite a bit of playing around. Does this feature need more options? We say yes ... unlockables through gamer achievements, anyone?"

I find it rather interesting to mess with, but I can think of a few options I'd like to see in it- namely more colors (where's black and white?), body-changing (which does appear to be incorporated in the real thing, from what I can tell), more hairstyles, and the ability to control the back of the long hairstyles.

I can't find an image output option, so if you want to save it you've got to take a screenshot and save it yourself as far as I can tell (GIMP was nice and gave me acne when I saved it as a GIF, enhancing the realism). If you don't have a place to upload yours, I found http://www.imageshack.us worked well (though it takes the picture down after 30 days if it's not accessed, I think), and lots of people seem to use photobucket.

Here's mine:

I had to rework the hair quite a bit- the controllable part, the bangs, are easily twice the normal size. The horizontal/vertical and expand/contract controls are very important to getting good results with this thing.

It's a much better likeness than I got with, say, the South Park generator. It's quite interesting, I think, and fun to mess with. ^.^

Neato. Could use a few more options, but I like it already. Doesn't look nearly as much like me as my Yahoo avatar does, but I like the possibilities. BTW, .png format works pretty well, and has a minimal file size.

So, who wants to be the first to challenge me to make a celebrity Mii? Because is it just me, or does the color scheme remind anyone else of Captain Kirk era Star Trek uniforms?

Sadly, I found no links to The Antisnaker. Perhaps it's on the internet somewhere, but nowhere is it connected to the stuff I read :(

He isn't exactly George Takei, but, for your viewing disapproval:
