So in my travels I ran across ArtRage (http://www.ambientdesign.com/artrage.html), and I became intrigued with it. I like to doodle things and it has the tendency to turn doodles into things that look better than doodles.

After some issues with getting my full version, I decided to get a feel for how everything interacts by using the "trace image" feature after some failures at freehand. Photos don't really do much good unless there's a lot of contrast (or at least for someone at my skill level) so I'm pretty much looking for source images to work with.

I've done mspaint drawing threads in the past and sadly I let the last one go but here's the deal: I have a big exam coming up Friday and it is giving me loads of trouble. Studying frustrates me as I don't understand a lot of what I am studying, so I have to take frustration breaks a lot. Typically I've been playing Eve-Online during these breaks but this tends to make the breaks longer than I anticipated. So if you guys have some kind of image you want me to give a shot at, post it and I'll attack them in order of posting.

RULES If your image is some kind of photorealistic monstrosity I won't touch it. I'm training both my Wacom skills and my skills with this program so bite me. gif files are acceptable, but png is preferred as ArtRage doesn't work with gif and you'll make me have to convert it anyway. Don't expect a masterpiece, I'll be the first to admit I'm pretty horrible and this is a project to try and build that area of my being. Don't listen to me if I promise I'll be done by x time. I have a busy class/study schedule and I'll work on things as I have time.

Here's an example of turning a simple gif image (http://img.waffleimages.com/14313045625ca0e982baa7fac8bb5fed69a3ad48/title-vile.gif) into something else (http://img.waffleimages.com/02d68f9c0649025d7b8bd14d8fa33156d308b4e6/vile-artrage.jpg). Here's some notes about this image since it is not necessarily indicative of what I am shooting for: I resized this image way down because artrage likes to save images the size of my resolution, so a lot of the characteristics of the art aren't there until I figure out how to make the size more manageable. I'm really tired and my goal was speed over quality, so lines are not straight and there are a few places I didn't color in. It was one of my first ArtRage + Wacom experiment ever. I really like lists.

So get posting some images guys I have a lab report and a paper to write tomorrow so I should have plenty of frustration to vent out.

I thought you stopped posting here. Oh well, I'm used to disappointment.
