Being able to edit multiple tiles at once

For those huge objects that are more than 1 tile, why not be able to edit them all at once instead of switching back and forth from tile to tile? this would aide artists who can't draw big objects one tile at a time(like myself) and don't feel like opening paint for it. Yes I know you can CTRL + Arrow key, but why not just select all the tiles you want to edit and press Shift + E and have a scroll bar on it so you can glide though all the tiles and draw continuously. and make it that all the tiles you edit at once conform to the first tile in the selection.(go from 8-Bit to 4-Bit and vice versa)
