Current State of 8-Bit Color?

I was wondering, A while ago there were cirtain elements the were not supported by 8-Bit Color. As of the most current beta, Are there any elements that are still tied to the old 16-Color system?

It seemed there used to be Change log at the top but I don't see it there now...

As far as I know, 8-bit color is fully implemented. I have been using it exclusively as of late, and have not run into any problems.

There's all I've had problems with. There are also a couple of quirks here and there, but I'm sure things will get ironed out.
