View Full Version : Since we're keeping FFC Attr. Change, let's at least make it easier to understand!

Let's at least make the FFC Attribute Change system easier to understand, shall we? Because one of my motivations for suggesting that it should be excised entirely is how not-so-intuitive the whole business is. But I'll be more accomodating of the system if the following improvements are applied:

1] Make an "Invisible" FFC data flag.
1.5] Maybe remove the "Stationary" FFC data flag.
2] Replace the "FFC Attr. change" combo type with an "FFC Attr. change" FFC data flag. Currently, "FFC Attr. Change" is utterly meaningless when placed as a screen combo. Its only purpose is within the context of FFCs, so let's make it a flag that can be checked or unchecked for any FFC.

When "FFC Attr. Change" is checked, the FFC has the following attributes:
- Unless there's a Stationary flag, it'd be stationary.
- Unless there's an Invisible flag, it'd be invisible.
- The following five (now six) checkboxes have an effect.
3] Rename the following five checkboxes so that they have more meaningful names:
- Swap Next -> "Swap speed with next FFC"
- Swap Prev -> "Swap speed with prev. FFC"
- Change Next -> "Increase combo ID"
- Change Prev -> "Decrease combo ID"
- Change to This -> "Change combo/cset to this"
4] Add the following checkbox:
- "Change speed to this". On by default. When it's off, an FFC running over this one won't have its speed and acceleration changed. Useful for ChangeFFCs that only serve to change the combo ID.

Here's the advantage of this: Being able to give a ChangeFFC any combo (not just an invisible FFCAC-typed combo) means that the "Change to This" option becomes a lot more powerful. No longer do you have to place all of the direction combos for an FFC right next to each other, or right next to an FFCAC-typed combo (Of course, that doesn't mean that Change Next can't still be used for some things...)

Also, maybe you could give the five (six) checkboxes a better grouping label than "Flags (FF Change specific)". Even if the current one is pretty accurate.
