Okay, for right now, we can pick up swords, however not only are they not added to the subscreen, you can't use them either. Here's some suggestions to remedy this

Item Type: Instead of putting in the type of item it is with numbers, you can select it by a drop-down list

Item IDs: Instead of identifying items and weapons by name, how about ID numbers? 1, 2, 3, 4, ect. The ID number would come first, then the appointed name after

Link With Weapon: In this field, you imput the ID number of the weapon you want when you use the item. For instance, the item z90 could be a fifth sword. Link it with z90 in the weapons, and it will use the tiles in the same way the other swords do

Link With Misc: Simmilar to the Link With Weapon field, you imput the ID of the misc sprite that goes with this. Same example. The item z90 is a sword, the weapon z90 is the sword while attacking, however the weapon z91 would have the graphics of the sword slashing. When linked with the item, it would animate just as the item type dictates. Swords would put the appropriate tiles in their appropriate places, Boomerangs would animate with sparkles left in a semi-random pattern behind it, ect, ect
