View Full Version : A suggestion about the boss marker...

We all know the boss marker doesn't show up when you get the compass. So how about this. Zquest doed this detection ting to make sure the screen has the flag "Dungeon Boss" checked. If so, then it shows the boss marker icon on the map and the screen with that flag on. say if you have a dungoen that is 4 rooms. the rooms are connected like a one way thing. The last room (example screen 45) has the dungeon boss flag checked. So when you get the compass, the boss marker icon shows up on that screen on the mini and the large map.

Couldn't it just be as simple has having a screen flag that will trigger something with the compass on that dmap? This could make it detect more than just bosses as well. Maybe there can be a check box for bosses but also treasure chests or keys.

I know people use the Dungeon Boss flag to activate other secrets and depending on how they set it up it could interfere with the compass based on how you presented it.

How about screen flags labelled "Show Boss Marker," "Show Mini-Boss Marker," "Show Key Marker" and "Show Treasure Chest Marker?" What they would do is self-explainatory, but we'd need to add sprites for each of those as well (it should definately allow the questmaker to CHOOSE which quarter tile is used for each thing, though).
