In the Select Enemy dialog, there should be a dropdown box at the top that has these categories: All, Original, and New.

When the category "All" is selected, all enemies are available in the list.

When the category "Original" is selected, only enemies from the NES Legend of Zelda are shown in the list.

When the category "New" is selected, only newly added enemies are shown in the list.

This does not limit what enemies can be selected. It is for distinguishment purposes only.

What we have here is merely a dropdown box that filters which enemies are shown based upon the category.

Why do this? There's a lot of new enemies being added, and having the enemies categorized will save a lot of confusion for say, ZC newbies who want to know which enemies are new, or traditionalists who wish only to use NES Zelda enemies.

I like this idea. Technically you could add more categories, but I think three is a good amount.

Maybe a "Boss" catagory as well, for enemies who have that unique sort of behavior?

That category would fit! Of course, there might be a "Regular" category as it's counterpart...

Overworld and Dungeion would also be nice, (technicaly these distictions are non-existant, but it would be helpful to ZC newbies and Tradinalists)

Here's what the categories should be:
-Original: Everything in the very first version of ZC, such as basic octoroks, stalfos, red & blue darknuts only, etc. (includes original bosses)
-New: None of the original enemies from above, just enemies added after the first version, such as death knights, fire wizzrobes, gleeok 2, tribble enemies, etc. (includes new bosses) Does not, however, include the latest enemies in the current betas (see below)
-Newest: Doesn't include any of the above enemies, but instead, all enemies in the current version would go here each time a new version appears so everyone knows what's brand new. Once that beta gets finalized & even more enemies are added, these enemies are moved to the "New" category (includes the latest bosses)
-Regular Enemies: All enemies that are not bosses (combines Original, new, & newest categories, except for leaving out the bosses)
-Bosses: All boss enemies

Edit: Perhaps "Newest" could be changed to "Beta" so people wouldn't be confused between the difference between 'New' and "newest"--makes more sense anyways, since often times an enemy gets added that is in its 'Beta' stage & may not actually be working properly.
