Anyone know of a good (online?) retailor for Super Nintendo controllers? I think I've heard of a few 3rd parties that still make some, but have no idea who/where. I suppose there's eBay, but I'd like that to be a last-resort only.

Control Pad for SFC/SNES
System: Super Nintendo™
Temporarily not available

So close... I signed up for e-mailed notification though.

I checked Amazon, and they had some "new" ones in stock. I'm questioning exactly how new they may be, but they were cheap.

The last time I checked, the local used game shop in my area has a few unopened SNES controllers. If you're interested in working something out, let me know.

eBay may be a good place to look, but I think most of what you'll find is SNES controller knock offs (3rd party), and I don't know how good they are.

Or ebay search for Official SNES Controller. You can easily find factory sealed SNES controllers never before touched by human feet. ;p

You still have to be careful though. I've seen fakes packaged in an imitation box that looks just like the real thing. It really sucks there are so many bootleg products on eBay.

I bought a couple of "new" SNES controllers that were imported once and threw them out because they felt very cheap. They were packaged in a box like Nintendo's, with photocopied box art of Mario and Yoshi, same pic as in that eBay auction above. It's sometimes called "Super 16 bit Joypad", or simply a 3rd party SNES controller that looks like Nintendo's. You're pretty much going to get what you pay for. Most stores will list the 1st Party controller as "SNES controller by Nintendo" to tell the difference.

Until about a year or two ago, you could still buy new NES controllers (dogbone style) from Nintendo.com for $15, and Play-Asia.com had Hori's Super Famicom controllers (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-kj-49-en-70-q7n.html) in stock for $20 each.

www.estarland.com sometimes gets SNES controllers in and you can add yourself to their availability list.

Looks like www.thegametrader.com has one in for $13. Just search for "SNES controller".

Some of the dpads on my SNES, NES, and GC controllers are wearing out, so I'm wondering if there's a way to open them up and fix them by adding some padding. I haven't found any online tutorials yet.

You could always buy a adapter to adapt a modern controller for SNES use such as a PSX controller.
