help in Legend of the 3 Elements

any one played this quest? am having a time just getting started..no sword no nothing just meat...any one knows how to get sword??? been in Links house but nothing....been in all houses that i can go into and tree thats says need boomerang to get past knight...looks like i need bombs but no where to get them..any help would be appricated..:)

i would of never though to look behind there thanks...and what a chore to get to sword :)
