Note that I'm not even entirely sure if it'll be called the "Mystic Forest," but it seems to fit, so...

The first two screens contain Freeform Combos. In the upper screenshot, see the two sawblades? Those are quite animated, (Drew them myself.) and they go perfectly along the black line in the tall grass. They work. The screenshot underneath it contains a Freeform Combo ghost. It moves along in a rectangular pattern. Yes, it's harmful if you touch it. The lowest screen contains a healing point. It was one of the first screens I built.

Looks nice, but the blue things in the second and last shots look horribly out of place. It's rare that you see that sort of thing in ZC, you know?

Star of David?
;)

A bit too dark for my tastes but look well layed out.

Star of David? ;) http://www.purezc.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/icon_heh.gif .. *LOL* .. I swear, that's what it looked like when I ripped it out of the Tales Of Symphonia Zelos Spritesheet. I ripped that formation (And then recolored it into several different colors.) and the S-Save point.

I think this was an inside joke. ...

A bit too dark for my tastes but look well layed out.Yes, ... yes, it is. I plan on inserting a few beams of light here and there though, if I can get my hands on some nice looking ones. If you guys know of any, please let me know. ;) ... ... (I'm talking to you, Gashin. ;-p )

Show them off! The more options NeoFirst has to choose from, the better! Hell, they can ALL go in there! O_O It gives people more of a choice.

I like the forest, I guess I won't be liking the saw so much if I step into it though ...

Yes, "Star of David" was the first thing I thought when I saw that one. I should know what it's called, really ;)

The star one looks quite ok to me, the one in the second screen looks, imo, just a tiny bit large in relation to the rest of the screen and the objects there. Perhaps ... I don't know, perhaps 2x2 tiles would be a better size. I'd have to see it to tell, though.

In my opinion the pallete should be a little lighter as it looks exactly like the dungeon. But other then that, looks good.

The other is pretty close to the U.N. symbol ;)

I think they will look better with a lighter screen, they stand out being such a bright blue in contrast to the very dark green.
All in all though, those are some really nice screens.

I personally love the screens. Better than anything I could do.
I like the circles, myself. They look even more "magic" due to the contrast. It implies a shiny quality.

Also, I just played the demo for the first time, and I've never seen better work. It looks like the "Mystic Forest" will be just as fun. Keep it up so I can stea- er, learn from this wonderful example.

Actually, our goal is to let you steal from it. :p In fact, we encourage it. Please, take whatever you'd like. Anything and everything. Look around for NeoFirst's goal.

I know. Seriously though, even the mere quality of the tiles is that of an official game. Are you sure you aren't a Nintendo employee, and just don't know about it?

No, Nintendo has indeed asked me to participate in the creation of this fangame. (lol, no.) I just have an immense attention to detail. I don't like letting little imperfections slip if I don't have to. The screens are all cluttered, but in a "good" way. It's visually appealing, I suppose... ... eh, it's complex. @ @.'

a person who gets paid to do said work would not put as much effort in...

I'll bet otherwise.

... ... Actually no I wouldn't. They'd probably have more expansive areas.

Then again, ZC's screens don't actually have all that much room in the first place to place down areas, so, you really do have to work with what you're given and make it all look nice. Honestly, in terms of the Mystic Forest, I want as maze-like a forest as I can get it, yet without making it too confusing. The forests should be dense where applicable, but not confusing and "bubbly," (Air pockets, ... unreachable open tiles within dense forests of individual trees, etc.)

I just liked eye candy. < <,' Feel free to show us anything you'd like to see. ^^; Remember, this isn't *my* quest. It's OURS. We're all working on it. All of us. It's just that I happen to be the primary organizer and builder. That doesn't mean someone else can't do whatever they want with it too though, if cleared by me.
