Want scrolling implemented into ZC? Or the ability to pick up and throw jars and rocks? How about an enemy editor? Or maybe an item editor?

If you found yourself nodding vigorously at the thought of any of those suggestions, read this thread. All of it, please. Read this as well (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?p=1084898#post1084898), for a further explanation pertaining to the Roc's Feather itself.

Well, sorry to say, but most of these lovely ideas are a long way off. A very long way off indeed. Not to say that they'll never happen, but just know that so many people have recommended it by now that there's just no point in asking again nor in dwelling on it. Scrolling etc. will be implemented when it is implemented, and asking when that will be won't change anything.

You can apply this same concept to a lot of other things that people ask for. The running trend here is that suggestions take several forms: (In order of relevance)

Suggestions to improve gameplay in ZC or the quest-building process in ZQuest.
Pipe dreams.
Suggestions to make ZC into something it isn't and will probably never be.
Suggestions to do something that's already been done.

Let's run through each of these categories, shall we?

(By the way, this is a good time to mention the concepts of "Gravedigging." Please look at AGN's definition of Gravedigging in their Terms Of Service (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?t=78500). (Also called "AGN's Rules.")

Suggestions to improve gameplay in ZC or the quest-building process in ZQuest.
These, in my opinion, are some of the best sort of suggestions that can be made for Zelda Classic. These introduce new concepts to gameplay in quests, and innovative ways to improve the quest-building process. Here are a few examples:
[ 1 (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?t=92349) | 2 (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?t=91831) | 3 (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?t=91270) | 4 (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?t=91315) | 5 (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?t=91327) | 6 (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?t=91319) ]Notice how practical all of those are. They set out to improve either what the player experiences during play or is able to do, or what the quest designer is able to build and how they build it. These sort of suggestions can make questing even more fun, and can make building easier and faster. These are some of the most important suggestions, and any experienced ZC'er always has these on his or her mind as they think of ways to improve ZC.

Pipe dreams
Pipe dreams are essentially things they would love for ZC to have which are essentially unreachable, but are based on suggesting something for ZC that's based on a concept found in another gaming engine entirely, such as OoT's multiple inventory screens, ALTTP's bosses, (Research designing custom bosses on your own instead) etc. I'm sure you can "see" it done in your mind's eye, but these are rather outrageous suggestions. That's not to say they won't happen, but they're not exactly within easy grasp of reality.

NOTE: As of fairly recently, Zelda Classic has a new scripting system implemented which allows for a much, much wider field of possibilities for ZC, though still has its own obscure limitations. Thus, note that requesting features like "the Helmasaur King as a boss" can result in people replying "Learn to script it" rather than "It'll be implemented in the next beta."

Suggestions to make ZC into something it isn't and will probably never be.
These suggestions venture even deeper into the realm of improbabilities and toe the line of sheer impossibilities in terms of where Zelda Classic is going. First and foremost, anything involving porting ZC to any other system is unlikely. That's something to do on your own time. As of right now, Zelda Classic is strictly for the computer, and more than likely Mac and Linux systems. (In their respective futures, of course. It's not too far away for them actually.) Making ZC 3D, RPG battle systems, and simulating certain aspects of Zelda 2 are all on this list of things to just not touch upon. At all, please. Same thing for multiplayer. Here (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?t=93351) is one example of what not to suggest. Many, many people have already suggested multiplayer features in ZC. Do Not Suggest It.

Suggestions to do something that's already been done.
I'm sure you can all figure out what these are. Basically, if it's already been suggested or implemented, it falls under this category. Of course, do remember that a good idea thrown out there that's already been suggested is better than a good idea that's never mentioned. Of course it's still better to check in any case. If you want to check, you can use the search feature. Do note, however, that the search feature is only available to staff, and Premium Members (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?t=81167). In any case though, it'll be listed in the ZC Suggestions forum, (The forum you're in now.) or in the Beta Suggestions (http://www.armageddongames.net/forumdisplay.php?f=150) forum, and may have already been added to the next pending beta.

That brings me to my next point.

Nobody knows when the next version of Zelda Classic will be released.
Check this thread at the Zelda Classic University for more information regarding this issue (http://zcu.sephiroth.ws/forums/index.php?showtopic=149).

By the way, if any of you have any ideas for ZC but want to run them by someone first to make sure it's a "good idea," feel free to show them to me via PM. Hey, I'm offering my PM box to you, so you may as well take advantage of it.
