Whenver I try to play a quest with the BS graphics links freezes. Is there something I need to set so my game does not do this?

That always happenes to me. I just look in the message screen section and put it to none on the starting screen. That workes on all of my quests.

pvd, are you playing the quests with the correct versions of ZC? Go back into the database and make sure you are playing 1.92 quests with 1.92, 2.10 quests with 2.10 and so on. If you mix and match you may get some errors with new features that could mess up older quests or missing features in older versions of ZC.

You fix the error, when Link freezes, press F6 and select Continue. Link should be free to move now. The error will still happen, but this is a way to get around it.

What versions are these quests for? I think this may be a known bug that beta 11 addresses.

I know that Zelda TWEAKED! is for 2.10.

I know this happened in a quest I was testing with a string on the very first screen Link started on, the little "blip" sound played (the sound that plays when a string is rolling across the screen), and Link could not move. The string didn't appear, either. So I got rid of the string.

Yes this was a bug with using overworld dmap strings. The F6 trick would work sometimes but I think some of them would also work fine if the quest was played in the version it was created in.

everything and it always happens the first time you enter. Is this
the bug you were talking about?

This obviously means that your version of ZC is too old, (The ZQ is newer :P) I couldn't play Demon'sInferno till I got 2.11; It wasn't compatible with 2.10.

Yes. In some versions of ZC, a dmap string in the overworld would cause ZC to freeze. Since it would only appear when you first enter the dmap, you can quit and continue (F6) and it wouldn't appear again, letting you continue with your quest.

No, when End of Time (which is mine) was still in development, I decided to put a string on the start of the overworld that would say "The Legend of Zelda: End of Time". I opened up ZC (v2.10) and Link was frozen. I obviously used the 2.10 ZQuest. I got rid of the string and it was fine.

Does this problem have to do with the conflict of having a string on a screen when the dmap may be zero for the overworld?

Cool.Thanks guys!
I will probably use 2.11 in my next game, considering that it is newer.

That may be the problem, the level number of 0. Of course, overworlds need to be level 0 (or else bad things will happen; i.e., no whistle). Now that I think about it, when you enter a dungeon with a string that appears (you know, it might say "Level 1 - Palace of Oats"), it doesn't mess up. So the level number of 0 might be the conflict.

Just rambling. :p

Hmm...If I have no whistle, would it be possible? Is there sometin' else
bad that could happen?

No, I mean that you can't use the whistle to transport out of there. ;) The whistle works only on a level number of 0.

Okay I was using 2.10 I will use 2.11.

One more question is it easy to move you saved games from 1 version to the next?

Dark Nation

No, saved games are not preserved.
