I am using the PTUX tileset and the Link shield tiles are out of place!:(
(sorry Mr.Z) Does any one know what spots they go in?Thanks!:)
(screen shots would be nice;) )

Both of these images were taken from the very first tiles page. They are from the very tops, if you're going to rip

(NewFirst) Here we see the layout for the two-frame Link. You can ignore the non-Link icons and tiles and such.

(DoR / NeoFirst) Here we see the layout for the three-frame Link. Again, ignore the icons and non-Link tiles. I also included the slash and swimming tiles in there. They don't have to go in those exact places, (You can point the quest to them via the Sprites Weapons/misc menu.) but that's how they're laid out individually in a row. Also note the alternate shield tiles. You can ignore those as well. (Or rip them. Whatever. :p ) Also note that the last three tiles in the swimming row aren't actually associated with the swimming tiles: They're just backup "alternate" diving tiles you can use. Swap as necessary. Same goes for those empty shieldl tiles on the very right of the image with no Link behind them. Those are just because it's nice to have other shields to use. Ignore them.

So in the Three-Frame Link layout, it's still the top two rows that you're focusing on. Again, ignore the "In Use" thing. Just focus on the Link tiles.

It's actuly the magic shield and mirror shield tiles.:rolleyes: It uses the 3 frame Link too. Here is a screen!

Enter what letters to look at the shot?

ShadowTiger's post shows you how the link tiles go, the upper shot is 2 frame the lower is 3 frame (bs)
make sure yours are in those positions and it should work.

Well...I put them in the exact spots.It still messes up though!:(

Example:

Those two tiles are what shows when Link walks up with the magic shield.
Other wise the magic shield is fine!:confused:

How do I fix it when Link walks up?
I have the BS Zelda rule on for 3-frame movement.

ok... you set that in graphics>sprites>items and choose the shield
set the tile modification for the effected shield, it's the box on the bottom which now has something like 10 or -10 in it.
I don't know the exact number you'll have to put in so you'll have to experiment.
when Link picks up the shield its the number of tiles between the 1st sheild and the one he is picking up, so it might be like -6 or something.

yes, the link tile mod on the shield itself.
I think it's off by 1 or 2 causing it to start in the wrong position.
It offsets the number of tiles when you grab a shield and counts from the 1st shield to determine the position.
so one of the shields (mirror or magic) is a + number and the other a - number.

I think it starts with the facing down shield in the center set of 3, aren't the center ones the regular shield?
then one sheild counts up from the first facing down in the center, and the other counts down from the first facing down in the center.

What you're saying is it isn't messed up, you just don't like it huh?
You only have 1 set of walking up tiles, all three shields use the same walking up tiles.

its the normal shield faceing right!:confused:
About the same with the magic shield,but the mirror shield faces down,then right.:(

Are you sure bs animation is set?
You know there is a bug in 2.10 that prevents it from being turned on right?
what version are you using?

If you are sure it is on, then you have to set the shield start positions (tile mods) like I said above

The BS animation is set and it works,just not the shield.
So it must be I have to set the Link tile mods...

Gurr!I checked the other tileset I have and it has the same tile mod. #s
as the one I am using! The other tile set worked!:mad:

I don't know what else to say, I told you what I thought might be wrong based on your descriptions of what was happening, and I can't say about transfering your game to another quest file because I don't know what you are using or what you have done with it.

You might ask *b* (also known as Gashin on purezc) about your bs animation problem, he is probably the most knowledgeable in that area, maybe he can tell you how to fix it.

Yours is set up right, it just isn't working.
It must be related to that bug that won't allow bs animation to be turned on in the 2.10
It's strage that it's partly working.
I tried everything I could think of short of making 3 sets of sprites to try to get it to work and it's a no go.

You'll probably either need to go back to the two tile Link or start fresh with a copy of a tileset that works with bs animation.

It's wired that the bs thing works...partly.It probably just messes up the
shield tiles like you said.:(
Do you think it would work with the 2 tile Link?
If so then do I just change the tile position and get rid of some tiles?

Yea, you can go back to 2 tile link, it will mean moving the positions of the link tiles.

Should I give Link a new look by importing some new Link tiles?
Or should I move the current tiles around?

If you use new link tiles it will be a lot more work, it might effect your slash tiles and other things you aren't thinking about right now, but that's up to you how much work you want to put into it.

If you put the tiles into the 2 frame positions then all you should have to do then is turn the bs animation rule off and reset the numbers (tile mod) in the shields.
