The United States now has it's very own Pirate Party (http://www.pirate-party.us/).

Here is an interview with the founders (http://www.wired.com/news/politics/0,71180-0.html?tw=rss.index).

I think this is great. I'm excited for their full website to come online. I hope those of you who are down with this kind of thing will spread this around. It'll be interesting to see what kind of political support they can drum up.

And just for fun, here are some historical Pirate Facts (http://beaglebay.com/pirate_facts.htm).

The pirate facts are pretty cool. As for the party, I wish them the best in their fight. To be quite honest, I don't really care about how much new stuff I can find off the net that just came out. I am way more interested in things, especially 80's stuff that is rare and doesn't have a large market. What I hate is when people sit on a copyright, and don't do anything with it, yet go after people who freely distribute the material. I also hate how the companies hoard stuff away from public viewing, with no intention to release it. It's one thing to throw people in jail for distributing advance copies of a new released movie, but it's another to go after people who are trading songs and old tv shows that people could never get anywhere else.

Thank God I live in Canada, but who knows when our time will be up?

Pending their outlining of their full policy, they'd get my vote.

Yarr, I be a butt pirate :pirate:

That statement is redundant. All pirates are butt pirates.
