Is there anything wrong with AGN's system of sending e-mails to you when you forget your password, so that you can retrieve or reset your passwords?

Originally, my user name was LinkMaster500, and I'm active on the Zelda Classic forums, but I lost my password. I went through the procedure you go through when you lost your password about 5-6 times yesterday and a couple times today, but I still have not gotten any responses.

Are there any technical problems here? Thanks for any help.

I remember having to wait more than a day to recieve my registration E-mail when I'd registered around mid-2002. I was about ready to just give up and register a new name, just in case the E-mail would have never been sent. Hell, I know quite a few people from the neighboring communities whos' sole excuse for not registering is that they CAN'T for this very reason.

I know it's not a simple issue to solve, but at the very least, you can add "The validation E-mail takes a long time to be sent. Please wait patiently for it and do not reregister for at least a week if it is not sent." to the message you get when registering a nick.

Oops--I have already registered a new name, but I'll wait a bit longer for the e-mail. Otherwise, I'll just use the new name from now on.

I didn't know that the response can take a while. I thought it was automatic. Thanks for the help anyway.

the password is a different thing then a validation , the password is automatic and the validation you can choose how you want that ( automatic or not )
I registered here because PureZC didn't validate mine wait more then two weeks and at last had to ask someone to validate it .
Didn't you change your emailadress in the meanwhile that you are member here without changing it in your profile ?

Are you sure its the right email address?? Sometimes members type in some other email account that they no longer use or check.

I'm very sure that it was the correct e-mail address, and it is the e-mail I regularly use. I know I'm supposed to get a response that gives a link to where you can reset your passwords, but nothing has come my way yet.

Try PMing an admin.

What are some administrators that I could send PMs to?

This may sound stupid, but make sure the email wasn't filtered out by your spam filter. I've had the auto-generated emails from here filtered a number of times - they tend to look like spam to the filters.

I don't think it has anything to do with any spam filters.

Regarding the administrators, I did try sending an e-mail to the forum administrator under the "Contact Us" link on this site, but still nothing has come yet.

Try PMing them directly. War Lord (http://www.armageddongames.net/member.php?u=1), Warlock (http://www.armageddongames.net/member.php?u=6), Dark Nation (http://www.armageddongames.net/member.php?u=47), and goKi (http://www.armageddongames.net/member.php?u=1115) are the most active admins on right now.

As you can tell, I am back on as LinkMaster500. I'll use this experience to remind everybody that you should use good passwords that you're very likely to remember.

Thank you all for the help. I appreciate it.
