What the hell does this mean?

Well, on the main ZQuest screen, press Pageup a few times until you see the four warps. They correspond to Warp Return A, B, C, and D. (Left to right.) So you'll see tile warps and side warps being able to go to any of those four points. Just set the use warp return on whatever warp style you're choosing that that's where it'll warp to.

Use warp return means that instead of using the green square for Link's continuing position, it'll use the first blue square (A) instead.

I wish I could make its purpose clearer though...

So that means that you would automatically start at the first blue square when you continue, meaning that you would not need to set the green square, thereby eliminating the common problem of people forgetting to set the green square and having link start in the top left corner of the screan?

You know what'd be nice? Since we have room at the right of the four Blue warp return points, ... wouldn't a "Set All" button be prudent, to set all blue ones to one point? Maybe even a button under that to set ALL FIVE of them (Four blue, one green.) into one place? :shrug:

In terms of that "Sanity Checker" that DN was speaking about in #PureZC, it'd be nice if it could test for Warp positions A and the Green warp return still in 0,0 if the room has a tile warp in it, meaning it's "active." .. something like that.
