The quest I'm working on currently uses version 2.10. Is there a way I can convert it to a 2.11 quest, or should I just finish it using 2.10? What would you all recommend.

How close to being finished are you? If you are close to being done, I would finish it in 2.10 first. If you are about 1/2 to 3/4 done, you probably could use 2.11.

It's completely up to you.

You can always play a 2.10 in 2.11, but the reverse isn't true. The only "converting" that you can do, I Believe, without going backwards through versions is by adding the new features that the new version has. It's no big deal really.

I still have a ways to go before completion. I could use 2.11, but my concern is that there may still be bugs in 2.11.

Also, is it easy to convert a quest in process from one version to another without affecting the contents of the quest in ZQuest?

Yes, there are still bugs in 2.11. That's why it hasn't been publically released yet. But....
Sure. It's just a matter of starting it in one and finishing it another.

Where is the download link for 2.11? I just want to see what's in it.

When I download and unzip the two files, I try to open them and get the error message that the alleg42.dll cannot be found.

Look in the beta discussion thread HERE (http://www.armageddongames.net/showthread.php?t=90670).
See if you can get some answers there. I know of nothing else.

I got it work from a download on the beta discussion page. Thanks rocksfan13 for all the help. but I think I'll wait until 2.11 is publicly released, and all bugs fixed before extensively using it for my own quest.

Yes, I strongly recommend that you wait for the public release of 2.11. (I should put that in my sig. I say it a lot. :p ) Bugs are the main concern, as well as beta differences. Maybe there's something in... beta 20 that is extravagent that you won't use because you downloaded 11b. (Yeah, you could technically open the 11b quest in 20, but why the risk of a wipe or serious bug?) So, yeah, 2.10 is the way to go. For now. ;)

Another recommendation is that if you're going to work with 2.11, back-up your file so if you come across bugs that will hurt your game, you can always finish the 2.10 version. As BH4 said, once you change a file to 2.11, theres no going back.

Another suggestion with the release of ZC 2.11 is to update the zquest.txt file so that it explains the new things included in that version, such as enhanced music, new items, freeform combos or those things that come up when you push "O": those different drawing forms.

It would allow everyone to get quick help on all the new features and how they work.
