DS lite

How many of you are actually going to buy the DS lite? I am a fan of Nintendo above all else, but they seem to be mading a lot of bad moves latley.

I wouldn't call the redesign a bad move. Nintendo didn't even have any regular DS systems left to sell in Japan, so it was a good time for them to release an updated model. Plus, they always release updated models of their handhelds and will probably continue to do so long as people keep snatching them up. It was only a matter of time before we saw a "new" DS.

I like some of the new features of the DS Lite such as the brighter screen, dust cover (for the GBA slot), bigger stylus, and re-positioned microphone, but it's not enough to make me buy it. I am very comfortable with my regular DS.

I already own a DS and have no need for the DS Lite, though apparently the DPAD and Buttons are improved.

I don't have a DS yet - I can't afford one. If I did pick one up though, it'd probably be a Lite.

If I didn't already have a DS, I'd be interested... Mainly 'cause it's smaller, lighter, sleeker. My question is, what's the point of the dust cover? Frankly, I just keep a game in there, so it gives me more options should I choose. *shrug*

Yeah, had I not already gotten a DS perhaps I would consider buying it. But so many people already have one and feel no need to get another just because it is a little better. You can still play the same games on the original. So I don't need it.

If you don't have a DS and you were planning on getting one. You might as well just get a DS Lite. Hell. If I could trde my current DS in for a DS Lite. I's do it in a heart beat.

Well, I was thinking about maybe buying it when it's released. I guess we'll see when it comes out over here, eh? Hell, when I was in Japan last month, if they weren't sold out I probably would have gotten one then.

My R button is going out on my old DS, so I'll probobly get one, simply because I killed my R button. Plus, it's alot nicer looking, and the extended battery life is a HUGE plus.

They just announced the release date this week. It's June 11th, and it's going to go for $129.99.

in any case, I won't be getting one. my DS works fine as it is. it'd be more tempting if I could trade it in for a Lite, but, even then I probably wouldn't. I like my silver DS just as it is
