Is there a way that I can make it so that the only way to exit a screen is after a set amount of time? Like... say after 10 seconds it will take you to another screen?

screen data>tics

Yep, timed warps. Just like Freedom said, go to Data -> Screen Data and set the number of tics to what you want. 60 tics are equal to 1 second, by the way. So you'd want to set it to 600 to make the warp activate after 10 seconds. :)

After the time's over you will warp to the Side Warp you specified on the screen (F11).

Ok then after I did that, I was testing this. I have this on the very first screen. But then as soon as the game starts the timed warp is activated. I know I have every thing right. I have the side warp right and the timed warp to 600(just while I'm testing) so why does it keep doing this?!

Ahh, I've heard recently that this was a bug. Try making the title screen on the second screen you start on. The screen you're warped to after you start the game, after the first time warp triggers right away.

Ok I will try that.

Nope. That didn't work... DANGIT!

Freedom

It will work.
The tics aren't accurate on the first screen, so set it like to 60 and then have it sidewarp to the title screen which is set to like 600, then have it sidewarp to the opening screen, and it should come out about right.
The first screen you have it warp to you can put something like... Van Halen Man Presents on it.

The bug forces you to have to put nothing on the first screen, but a full screen warp and the side warp to the second screen. For whatever reason, version 2.10 doesn't like following the first screen's timed warp tics. On the second screen you can put your title screen.

Ok thanks a lot. I am, and have been, downloading 2.11 for the past 1 and 1/2 hours because I have dial-up:( . Does it do this on 2.11? or is it just 2.10?

Freedom

1 1/2 hours?
you don't have dial up, you have snail mail
I have dial up too and it's only about a 15 to 20 minute download for everything

15 to 20 minutes for dial-up? You must not have AOL. I do, and it takes 30/40 minutes for each beta version of 2.11.

"There are 3 kinds of internet: Broadband, dial-up, and AOL." Yeah, I pretty much hate AOL. :glare:

Yeah, I hate AOL also. The "You've got mail" thing gets really annoying. The reason mine took so long is because of 2 reasons. I have a absolutlly horrible phone connection. And last week I had to reinstall this whole computer due to a virus infection and it hasn't been as fast ever since.:(

what's AOL?
______ on line?
NO I wouldn't ever infest my puter with AOL.
I've got Toast

Van Halen Man

So what you're saying is that you are going to infest you computer with Toast?

Freedom

It's done me right.
It's just isp, no "programs" added to my machine period.
Plus it gives me 400 megs on their server for my site

Van Halen Man

Maybe I should try that!:D

Pineconn

Really. AOL is incredibly overrated. However, we get it for 3 bucks a month, so what's to argue with that? If they make us pay the normal amount (like $29?), we're getting Roadrunner. Costs a lot, but you don't have to stare at the screen looking at "Loading: 1%...

2%...

3%... "

:glare: Yeah, you get the picture. AOL has taken over my computer, too. Every time I start my computer, it brings up some stupid "AOL is checking for spyware." And it never finds any because I have Ad-aware, which I suggest you get. Pretty nice program.

Boy, I got off topic! Yeah, timed warps will do what you want.

Nah, no problem. It's never a bad thing to be upping the post count, eh? :king:

Well, I'm really tired. Time for bed. I added a lot to my current quest. The entire 2nd half of my Level 8 area, AND 8 boss flag areas all in the same house. (Of course: after you beat a boss, the guy string changes. Why else would I have 8 boss flags in a house?) And because no one cares, I shall stifle myself. Maybe I'll hit myself with a stick. :whap:
