I've been playing this mysteria game by pikaguy900. I can get to level 4, but then I can't find the key to get in. Does anyone know where I can find it. I've found the heart behind level 4 and the 1/2 magic up the waterfall. I've explored the clown level I, but so far nothing. Two spots that might have something are the unmovable rock next to a cave near the area where the magic 2x sword was given. Also there is the area to the side of level 6 where there is a cave, but no way of accessing it. Maybe I need the hammer, 2x bracelet, or flippers. Anyone out there have a clue?

Hmmm... Did you get the most recent version of my quest at PureZC? In that version, I fixed a key AND room problem. There was a room that you couldn't get to from the hallway above level 4. You should be able to now. The hammer is later on after level 6, as are the Power Gloves and Flippers. All that Level I (for item)- Clown Base has to offer is the raft. Good luck on the quest. (And thanks for getting it. I worked hard on it, and I hope you like it so far.)

Sounds like you solved my problem. I wondered about that room. I figured it was there just to be funny! So I went to level 10 and got a key from there... I'm still puzzled about a shop that won't let me walk into it, but I'm sure the updated quest should fix that too... thank you... fun quest :-)

What DMap is the shop at? If it's in Forest Ruins Area, it's just a building like in A Link to the Past in the Dark World. If you've played it all the way, you should remember a building with a treasure chest inside. You don't go IN a building, but more of going under the roof. This building I speak of in my quest is like it, except you get a Piece of Heart instead....

Out of curiousity, did you alpha test your quest? That is, play through it before releasing it? I remember awhile ago that one couldn't obtain the Level 1 Triforce piece because of error. As a matter of fact, that's the version I have.

If that's the version you have, redownload the quest at PureZC! You can get to level 6 there. And I didn't test it ALL the way before I released it. I DID change a few things after testing most parts I had problems with, like the shallow water in level 1 to suit the name of the dungeon. Not counting the shallow water, there's NOTHING in the dungeon to go with the name... So far, the main bugs I've fixed are as follows:
1: Shallow water was normal water.
2: 1st key in Level 4 was in room off the limits of the Dungeon Map.

And that's all I remember. If everything goes well, you can beat the game now!

perfict, the update worked great -- as for the shop I can't enter, it's on my way to level 2, where I have to puch a rock to get to it. I can't get to the back of the shop either... maybe a bomb? Also there is a shop near level one tht has a guy in it that doesn't say anything, but I imagine that's because he needs the letter. Also in the very beggining there is a blinking piece of the heart. Is it just decoration? I pick it up, but it doesn't do anything. In addition, can you help me with level 5, I am quite baffled as to where it might be?

Yep, that building holds only one purpose: To contain one of the Pieces of Heart needed to get the White Sword before Level 3. As for shop #2 at the start of the game, he DOES need the Letter. Do you remember where you got the Power Bracelet? Go there with the Magical Boomerang (somewhere in Level 4) and use it on the skull. Go north to the graveyard (remember this for later, as it holds a secret I will NOT tell you.), then west. There you'll find the Letter. As for Level 5, I will not tell you where it is, but I will tell you how to get on the road to it. Just take your new letter to the Bomb Shop owner (the guy at the start who tells you nothing) and buy a Super Bomb. Next, go to the Forest Ruins Area, at the location you find the Forest Shrine. Use the Magical Boomerang on the boulder at the north of the screen and go to the screen it was guarding. Find your way through the cave of maze (I made that up off trhe top of my head just now), and Super Bomb the wall on the left side of the screen. You are now on the road to Level 5. There are a few bomb upgrades here, as well as a path to the area of Level 8, but that's later. Good Luck.

I've made it to the end... yey! Only one problem. I am in the extra level and I go into the room with the master key. I climb the ladder, but it won't let me access the platform to get the key... do you have any work arounds, if not, do you have a cheat code, so I can enable the key. Also, do you have any pointers as to where the flippers are. I imagine I need to find them to get the five keys to access level 9. In addition I'm baffled as to where the power bracelet #2 might be, which I think is neccisary to obtain the big money bag to get the things from the 999 rupie shop. Thanks -- oh ya, how do I get past level 11... probably the power bracelet #2 right?

I'll look into the Extra Dungeon problem. Are you sure it's Extra Level- Kindle Grave? If so, then ignore it. You only get 3 items from it: Fire Boomerang, Magic Key, and Golden Arrows, all of which are OPTIONAL. As for the Flippers, they're in the area of Levels 9-15. The Power Glove (as I call it) is in Level 9, AFTER you get the 5 Keys from the guardians of Ganon's Stronghold, found in Levels 10-15 (duh.). If you unlock the wrong door in the room of Level 9 with 2 of them, you must go back to the Extra Dungeon and get the Magic Key. So you won't make that mistake (and I AM willing to let EVERYONE know this so they won't HAVE to go to the Extra Dungeon): Unlock these doors: North, North, West, South, West. This will get you to where you find the Power Glove, but if you found the Magic Key, ignore Levels 10-15 unless you want free potions.

EDIT: Oops. THIS is why i hate having two tiles that look alike, but have different walkability settings, near each other. I fixed it (in ZQuest) and will upload in a minute.

Nope, no extra keys. All you need is one key in Kindle Grave to get infinite keys.

Until the quest is updated at PureZC, you can get the new update at:

Really? Last I saw, it was rated 3 at PureZC. I'm going for at least a 4! But thanks. I worked hard on it , but there are SOME areas I accidentally messed up with the tiles.... It shows....

Oh, and I have a favor to ask. When you beat my quest, please tell me how much you liked the quest, what you'd like me to add/change (I'm redoing the quest in a Pure tileset, so everything will be different except some of the names), what you liked and disliked, and if there should be a sequel. Oh, and any other comments if you have any. Thanks.

I liked the quest because it was a challenge, and yet unlike the demo quest ex, it was beatable (I finally gave up on the bonus dungeon in that game.) This game was both challenging in enemies as well as puzzles. I've played Zelda for a long time, so a good challenge is always welcome. I liked being able to warp to the end of the dungeons once the main item was obtained for each area. Also I liked the unexpected surprises such as the casino area that gave a lot of coins. Also the other numerous places that were unexpected, like the dungeon that the items were hidden by a brick wall (the ghosts clued me in on the fact it was hidden) -- thanks for the effort of designing this. I think once the bugs are worked out, it will be all good... better comments, just look at all the people who have viewd this thread :-) -- by the way... three questions. One, how do I get past the blasted brick wall in the extra level, right before the boss area and two how do I move the rock next to then #2 sword and the one above level 7. Thanks

I know this sounds stupid, but how do I post a comment at purezc and a rating? One thing that you might be able to change is to allow the lense of truth to see every secret and not just selective secrets... like what item is needed to move things, and invisible walls. I think one quest I played had that feature?

Here's the answers to your questions (numbered in the order you typed them, of course):
1: You need the Silver Arrows. Sorry, but them's the breaks. Why would I let you have the Golden Arrows BEFORE Level 9 (where you get the Silver Arrows)?
2: Oops. I forgot to make the rock one screen to the left of where you get the White Sword movable. Oh well. All you get from the cave is a Piece of Heart, so ignore it. Oh no.... The boulder above Level 7 can't be pushed... Now how will people get the Huge Wallet? I shall fix these problems AT ONCE!
3: I have no idea how you're able to post comments and rate quests. I can't do it, either!

And I WILL NOT turn on the rule "Show Lens Hints". I find that the rule can make quests FAR too easy.

Okay, I fixed the two problems with the boulders. Oh, and I added some extra music in. They're the kind that have to be in the same folder as the quest to work, so I put them in the zip. They're from Kirby's Dream Land 3 (I can't get enough of it, so I have every last piece of music from it). The areas I put them music in are Level 8, the underwater cave, and Level 9. I THINK that's all I did in terms of the music.... Oh well. Enjoy. (And revisit these past areas if you want to hear their new music!)

Oh yeah, and here's the link again in case the other one gives you the old zip:
http://www.geocities.com/pikachu_fan_13/Mysteria.zip

Ah, here's another update. Nothing new, really, except ONE recolored tile and more music from Kirby's Dream Land 3. Yay. The areas with the new music are:
Mt. Frostbite & Frostbite Caverns
And... some other place I forgot about. I think the above 2 are the only ones.
No, wait, I remember now. The other 2 places are Cyber Gem and Gem Caverns (yes, I use the term "Caverns" a lot in this quest).

Sure. It's probably got a few problems (I will NEVER call them bugs because they are simply things I overlooked, like misplaced rooms and flags I forgot to set) left, but I'd like my quest to be updated ASAP.

New update. I only posted this in a new reply because I'd like people to actually look at this thread. Editing doesn't count for posts, you know...

I went and took a look at the Extra Dungeon, and noticed something TERRIBLE:
I set one of the boss enemies as a Gohma 4. At the time I made the quest, I didn't see a difference between Gohma 3 or 4 (since they were new to me). I figured that Gohmas 3 and 4 were the same as Red and Blue, only stronger and with more stamina. Now, I know that Gohma 3's can only be damaged by Silver Arrows, and Golden Arrows are the only things that can defeat a Gohma 4. Therefore, I changed the Gohma 4 in the Extra Dungeon boss fight (which nets you a Heart Container!) to a Gohma 3. You'll still need the Silver Arrows, though.

You're confusing me... The "Shrine" is the name of Level 2, which is Ruin Shrine. On that screen, look for a large boulder-like object out of shape with the rest of the "rock". Use the Magical Boomerang on that. And what do you mean "the screen at the start of the entrance"? Please be more specific and try not to describe things like that. I have a hard time understanding some things, mind you.

Yes, there is more than one Boomerang. 3, in fact. There's Wooden, Magical, and Fire, all of which are in this quest. Find the Magical Boomerang in Level 4. Also, didn't you notice how I mentioned the Magical Boomerang to use instead of the Wooden? You need to use this Boomerang in 2 places-Mt. Explosia, and Forest Ruins Area. The Mt. Explosia path takes you to the Letter, which you will need to get to Level 5.

I will not tell you the exact location, but here's a clue: There's a secret in the Triforce room, but it's not a staircase to another room or to an item room containing the item you seek. Rather, check the north wall, and pretend you're a ghost...;)

Ummm... I thought it was the north wall that you could walk through... Yes, it is. Just go to the center of the north wall (the one at the top), and keep holding up until yuo go through the wall. I didn't want to say what most other people say, which is headbanging. That means checking the walls for one that you can walk through, but technically, pretending you're a ghost is the same thing, since ghosts can go through walls...

Yes, I did that to make it a bit harder... There's no way you can see where you are going, but try going up, left, up, right, down, right, down, right, up a lot, left a lot, and down. That's all I can tell you, and I can't say the exact spaces because of the way Link walks.... Sorry.

First off, the Red Book is not the Magic Book. You buy that, I think. It's actually Din's Fire. You'll find 2 other books like it, one blue and one green. They're Nayru's Love and Farore's Wind, respectively. And what caverns do you mean? If you mean the ones in the walls of Mt. Nope, no other items in Level 5. If you have the Wand from Level 6, you can get to the warp panel in Level 5. It's the only way to Levels 7 and 8. It takes you out of the Level, though... Have you found the Level 3 Sword yet? You should have it by now. The guy who gives it to you tells you to "save the villiage" in order to get it. If you have enough Hearts, you can get it.

To get the White Sword, you must look around Levels 1 and 2 for Pieces of Heart. Once you have 6 Hearts, you can get the White Sword. To get it, though, you need the Power Bracelet, which you must have the Boomerang to get. They're near Level 3.

Do you mean the dungeon that says Extra Dungeon or the one that says Level 11? If it's the last one, are you stuck in a room with one door and nothing else besides walls and enemies? If so, bomb the north wall. If you're stuck in the room with blocks surrounding the center of the room, try pushing against each block until one moves and a staircase appears. Also, the Flippers are in the Explosia Caverns. You'll need to find them late during your Key Search. If you're stuck in the Extra Dungeon, however.... Save that until you find the Silver Arrow. You can't beat that dungeon without it.

Where are the flippers specifically? I have looked every where and cannot find them. I have beaten the game, and passed level 11, I just can't find the flippers so i can do lvls 12-15.
Huh? You beat the quest? How could you do that without beating Levels 10-15? Oh, you must've found the hidden Magic Key. Anyways, Levels 10-15 only have keys, so don't worry about them if you've already beaten Level 9. If you need anymore help, look for the lower-right-most Goal Square (One of the blinking lights.) and try to find your way over there. If you need even more help, keep going south until you find a path of water. Go to the east from there, go up the wall, go east again, and go up the wall again. There's the Flippers, surrounded by lava. Blow the Whistle to get it.

No, you're not being dumb. I put that there, forgetting that you get the Flippers after that screen. I got rid of it, so here's the link again, in case the old one doesn't work:

Edit: Silly me. There is no Level 15. Level 14 is the last one. Also, in Level 13, I forgot to add the Boss Key. You can also get the Red Candle here if you didn't buy it, but then again, with Din's Fire, why would you want it? Hehe.
Edit again: Okay, I fixed those problems. Yay for me. Hopefully, you won't hsave to start all over...

Good Luck.
I found the magic boomerang and went to go get the letter you mentioned about, but when I got there, the "letter" was a flashing superbomb. I decided to go ahead and pick it up because it looked slightly different than the superbomb offered in the shops, but alas, it was just a normal superbomb that I did not have room in my inventory for. Now what?

...I have NO idea what you're talking about. I gave the letter changed Super Bomb graphics. It's now a pulsating Super Bomb (kinda like the one seen in LttP), which you must give to the Guy in the Bomb Shop in order to buy the Super Bombs, which grant you passage to Mt. Frostbite. Good luck reaching it....

Edit: Oh yeah, I'd suggest going to Level 6 first. Get the Wand, THEN go back to Mt. Frostbite. You'll be glad you did. Trust me.

I already have the wand, and the pulsating superbomb does not show up in my inventory. It might be because I had not yet picked up any bomb upgrades and I already had 1 superbomb in my inventory. So when I went to pick your pulsating superbomb up... nothing happened because my superbomb inventory was already full. If all else fails, I can go back to start and resort to grass cutting for money until I have enough to buy a superbomb for 150.

Shouldn't I have a wallet by now? I'm on my way to level 7.

Do you have a potion? If pikaguy changed the letter graphic, then your potion is taking up that inventory spot. Drain your potions and you should find the pulsating bomb in that spot if it's supposed to be the letter.

That's right- I found that out myself once... If you have any Potions when you get the Letter, you'll have to get rid of your Potions before you can see the Letter. Oh, good for you on having the wand already. Now you don't have to worry about leaving Level 5 and not being able to get through my super-maze. :p

Have you found Casino Town yet? If not, then no, you SHOULDN'T have a Wallet by now. If you have, then yeah, you missed it. The Wallet is on the way to Level 7, alright? All you need to reach the area of Southern Mysteria that it's in is the Wand. To actually get it, though, you need nothing. ;)

I am having the same problem with the flippers. I get to a screen where I need to cross some water, yet I do not have the flippers yet. I tried to download that updated zip file, but that page isn't working anymore. Is there anyway around this? Also is there anything else I would need to get after the flippers anyway? I do have the magical key. I have got to Ganon already, I just haven't defeated him yet. If there isn't anything I need with the flippers, then I will probably just go and defeat Ganon.
And this is a great quest. I have thoroughly enjoyed it. One of the best I have played in a while!

Sorry, I took it off my site to make room for other zipped folders. Ugh. I still have it, so I'll put it back up. But since you have the Magic Key, you don't need the Flippers. All they gave you was the ability to gain some other items on the Mysteria overworld and access to another L-9 Key Dungeon. :p

Oh yeah, I'm also working on a remake to this quest, so you KNOW it'll be better. ;)

Edit: There. (http://www.geocities.com/pikachu_fan_13/Mysteria.zip) Now I've reuploaded my bugfix. Not sure if I uploaded it to PureZC, but who cares?
