How do I make the slash sprites?

Your tileset/graphics pack may already have tiles for slash available. What tileset are you using?

(the following assumes ZQ2.11b10)
Assuming you do have these tiles available then you would click Quest -> Graphics -> Sprites -> Link
Then you just select the slash tab and you can select the tiles that look like Link is slashing.

You also have to make sure that either the init data has link using the slash ability or, if not, then you have a room where link learns the slash ability.

What Espo meant was what version of ZC are you using? 2.10 or 2.11?

Thanks, If it does matter, I'm using version 2.10 I'm going to wait until 2.11 comes out officialy. But now that I have the sprite tiles what do I do? I go to Quest>Graphics>Sprits>Link. Then what?

Make sure the tiles are assigned to the correct place. If they are not in the slash spot, then they are not in the correct place in your tiles.

Only with 2.11 can you individually select the movement tiles. 2.10, the tiles are preset.

They can be anywhere on the tile sheets, they load in through Graphics>weapons/misc.
Look at the 2.10 test quest to see how and where they go.

So I go to weapons/ misc. then go to link slash and this menu comes up and then I am pretty much clueless. What do I do next?

Click on the small square and choose your tile for Link slashing to the NORTH. After that tile should be East, South, and West (or west before south, I can't remember). THEN you must scroll down to Sword 1-4 (Slash) and set the tiles of the sword when you slash...

Do I do this on the same menu? And if so the same order of directions?

Yes, Sword 1 (Wooden) (Slash) and the rest of the sword slashes are under Weapons/Misc.

Van Halen Man,
I just reposted Alphadawgs tutorial in this forum, It will explain most of these things you've been asking and includes screenshots and all.
Hope that helps.

Ok I'm confused again. While at the link slash menu I click on the only tile square there. then I click on it and select link slashing north. but then I do that again in the same one box? Do I need to do anything else in that menu like the animations. What is everything else in that menu like auto flash 2p flash h flip...etc.?

It's called 210test. It's unpassworded, so you can use its tiles if you want. The tileset is called Newfirst, so remember that if you're going to use it (though all of the Pure tilesets look better....).

when you downloaded the 2.10 there was a "test quest" called 210test.qst.
It has what you need to know in there, and probably even has the slash graphics, since it uses the same Link as descendant does.

Descendant has a lot missing, so using that tileset is going to give you a workout, I started with it and it took me a year to get everything in it and get it all working right.

Van Halen Man, Descendant has a lot of good tiles, but many of the good tiles from Descendant were put into later sets also. Even though Descendant is a pretty good set to start experimenting with, you may want to look into using one of the newer sets like a Pure set once you feel confident.

What exactly do you mean by pure set? Is it a set called Pure tile set? And can I get it at Pure ZC.com?
