Maybe I should have asked here first...

I have some music files with the "MP3 Format Sound" file type.

How do I change them to make them compatable?

I sure hope you aren't talking about turning them into MIDIs there. There are ways to do it, but they mostly require pieces with only one instrument to get even decent results. If you want to take that path, then AmazingMIDI (http://www.pluto.dti.ne.jp/~araki/amazingmidi/) would be a good starting point...

If you just want to use them as is in ZC, then there is an "Alternate Music" feature for DMaps in 2.10 that will let you specify the name of - among other things - an MP3 file in the same folder as the quest. Unlike MIDIs, you can't embed them into the .qst file or change the start-end/looping/tempo/volume/etc. Also, ZC will play any file of the same name in that directory, so people can put their own music in that part of the quest.

However, if the file can't be found, then ZC will just use the MIDI defined for that DMap instead, so make sure you have a suitable replacement - even if it isn't the same music. But if you really want the same thing and it happens to be game or anime music, then VGMusic (http://www.vgmusic.com) or Galbadia Hotel (http://gh.ffshrine.org/) may very well have what you need.

How do I use the alternate music option?

The menu option Quest > DMaps opens the usual dialog for editing DMap properties and setting the music for that DMap. In ZQ 2.10, this dialog has several pages - one of them IIRC is called "Alternate Music". The text box on that page will let you choose the MP3 file.
