View Full Version : Bombable Wall Problems...

I set the tiles for bombable walls in a dungeon and when I test it out in the game I get nothing but blank white tiles for the "unbombed" wall. When I place a bomb the wall turns back to the defined "bombed" wall that I set in ZQuest. Any suggestions? This seems to only apply to north and south-facing walls, and I already have the regular "wall" combos set. The dungeons are free-form, if that is any way to assess the problem better. Thanks.

I haven't clue. But you can still correct it by placing the correct unbombed wall tiles there in its place. I shouldn't effect the bombable portion of the wall, only the image.

BTW: This is how you can show cracked walls for walls that can be bombed.

Check which Door Combo Set you're using. If that doesn't help, then maybe you should make the wall LOOK like a bombable wall in the door combo set, only use the door combo "Wall", and put the unbombed wall tiles on it. Next, put bomb flags on it and make them invisible tiles. Put the bombable wall on layer 1 using secret flags, so when you bomb the wall, the secrets on layer 1 are triggered, so it looks like you had 2 combos for one flag.

Pikaguy, your suggestion is ok except that secrets aren't permanent in dungeons. I'm sure there's some error I'm making in zquest to tackle this. I know because I tried to use a bomb flag for a wall in one of the dungeons and it reset the wall every time I came back to the screen. The funny thing is I don't have a problem when the bombable walls are facing east or west..

EDIT: Aha, I figured it out. Apparently you have to set the door as a "wall" before you set it as a "bombable". Otherwise you get the white squares. Thanks anyway everybody.
