Hey What's Up? I have a question about the original BS Zelda that was played on the SNES. I've heard that Level 9 was never released however i'm always seeing info on it. Are the roms floating around just hack of the original, was a complete rom ever released, or was Level 9 never available from St. Giga?

That's originally what i thought too, but i was looking at GameFaqs.com and three (of four) faqs said that level 9 is available at certain time where you got the wooden sword, but the odd ball said that level 9 doesn't exist and neither does the power bracelet nor the level 3 sword.

I've played the BS Zelda. "Level 9" is not an actual level...it's a "continuation" of level 8. What happens is (I wish I knew if there existed a spoiler tag or not...anyway...stop reading if you don't want to know):

You beat level 8 and Gannon flees. You go back to the place where you got the wooden sword at the very beginning of the game, and the old man is found dead. You go behind him and fight Gannon in another room. If you beat him, Zelda is in the room behind him.

And that's the scoop on BS Zelda. Oh, and there IS a level 3 sword, but you can only get it when the timer is at a certain time...same with the red ring.

What do you mean Gannon Flees? I just played through it and don't remember seeing anything about gannon running away.

After completing Levels 1 though 8, go back to the first screen where you get your first sword, and Ganon will be there. That's Level 9. It's like 2 rooms big. Just a boss fight with Ganon, nothing else.

You can play a form of the game using Zelda Classic and VEL's BS Zelda Remake: http://zeldaclassic.armageddongames.net/viewquest.php?q=52 - It doesn't have the timed events like the original, but everything else is pretty accurate.

And yes, there is a hacked ROM out there of the original. I've played it using ZSNES and it works fairly well despite being a little buggy. Sorry that I can't link you to it though. (that's against the rules)
