I missed the "amazing jump" at the beginning of 8-2, mostly because I am not familiar with the game. I haven't played the original mario since I was 5 or 6 years old. Does anyone know how far into the video this is?

Amazing video though. Those guys have a lot of talent.

Very interesting. I've watched a couple of speed runs of Mario 1 before, frame-by-frame, and normally playing through. Never two at the same time before. I'm not sure what they meant by the "amazing jump" either, but the video was very nice to watch.

Damn, didn't know you could jump up to that space over the ceiling so early in 1-2. I'm always impressed by speedruns. I mean, nothing in that video was particularly spectacular or impossible-looking, but the fact that they're able to put all that together without making any mistakes, that's the impressive part.

They actually did make some mistakes, not that they were vital errors or anything. It says they're personal records were about a minute faster then shown there, so they must of made little mistakes. It seems they tried to time it so they both finished at the exact same time.

The start of 8-2 is at time 3:30 in the video, I presume the jump up the slope with Lakitu is what's meant.

What's most amazing to me is that they did this without any emulators. Really impressive.

One of them got too far ahead, and he deliberately stopped so they could finish simultaneously.

I can do that. I've never timed myself though, so I can't say if I'm quite as good, but I do the speed run sometimes.

I thought the cheering was quite pathetic though.

Wow, I never thought someone could complete that game in under 7 Min. ƒ

I thought the cheering was quite pathetic though.I'm glad I'm not the only one that felt that way.

It was all like OH MY GOD MARIO JUST TOTALLY JUMPED OVER THAT GAP!!!! *applause*

The cheering was fine. They are cheering the ebb and flow of the race, not the specific jumps. Duh.
