Cutscene trouble

I know how to make a cutscene, but my message string won't appear. I've set the Dmap to dungeon, used fire for a guy, picked my string, and set the room type to "learn slash", and linked the screens together with insta-warps,but nothing so far. If you want, I'll send you the quest to check it yourself.

Send me a copy of your quest. I might be able to figure out what is wrong.I think your problem is you do not have the level set to 255 try that see if that works.

Yes. To have talking on dmaps(except overworlds), the level number must be greater than 0.
